Mashael lives in the remains of a former pleasure planet, a satellite in orbit. One day she is lured by the Maskmaker, who is in hiding because he has accidentally destroyed the world, and enters into his workplace. He fixes her a mask, as shown here, that gives her desirable powers. The threat that he may away these powers again in time will allow him to wield power over her. But ultimately Mashael finds out the true nature of the masks and has to confront their source of power.
