Haha its fine. Being a father, still same as being a mother. Have kids ya gotta care for and protect etc.
But as for this particular situation. I'm talking about how it is in China. Yes I understand the typical protective dad as Shifu is ready to kick po's ass. BUT in the older era to which this takes place, I think Shifu would be honored to have Tigress correlate with Po since he is literally the all time most famous warrior. It'd he considered very honorable.
I'm being to literal from the humor portrayed in the comic I know.I just was rereferring too if Shifu would really be that upset or not if they apply the typical chinese tradition.

Sure Po is a goofball, but he is good enough at kung fu to uphold the title of Dragon Warrior. Plus he has a real good heart.
I'm not trying to be a skeptic, i love his reaction in this comic. I just am simply inquiring what would happen if the actual Chinese traditions were applied to the idea. Wouldn't Shifu be proud?
Because as seen in the movie, the villagers do bow to him out of respect. So obviously there is some old fashion honor-tradition there.

We really only know that Tigress has been training with Shifu for at least 20 years based on her comment in KFP2, which could put her in her late 20s to early 30s depending on how you interpret her age when she was adopted by Shifu. The best we have for Po's age is that Shen said he's been waiting for 30 years to inherit the throne, though it seems to be implied that this includes the time before he was exiled since he mentions how he used to play in front of it as a child and his father would tell him that he would inherit it right before that line, so Po probably isn't more than 30, as he was no more than a year old when Shen destroyed the Panda village. Personally, I always figured Tigress would have to be older than Po by a little bit, anyway, since it seems like Po was a fan of the Furious Five since he was a child.

"30 years i have been waiting for this moment" Shen's quote very easily implies the time when he was plotting against his parents. Hence when he attacked the panda village.
Tigress quoting she was training for "20 years" and she was about 6 or 8 when she was adopted.
True they are around the same age i can guarantee that. But Po saying he was a fan since he was a 'child' could be counted as a ten year old. And we do not even know how old Tigress was before the furious five even became famous. The furious five were adults when they were recruited by Oogway and we know for a fact Po is not the youngest out of all of them. Therefore he couldn't be a 'child' when they became famous.

I would disagree with the implication that 30 years would only encompass the time since he was exiled. He'd obviously been waiting for that moment longer than that. I'd also disagree that Tigress' top possible age when she was adopted is 8. She could have easily been 10 or 11, which often don't look too different from 8 year-olds, especially if they're orphans who are probably undernourished. Further, there's no guarantee that Tigress immediately started punching trees right after being adopted, which was the specific training to which she was referring.
