Description
Odin took a good look at himself in the mirror beside him. He nearly shat himself as he saw the rotund figure that he had acquired over the years. He couldn't believe just how fat he had gotten. Nor could he believe how no one bothered to stop him, or at the very least talk to him about his eating habits. Aside from Thanatos, none of the knights ever made a point to get on his case about his weight. Not even the king himself; though to be fair, the Zephyr King had no room to talk being a blimp himself. This attitude persisted into the present day, however, now taking physical form as Kodai's familiars thanks to the Extra Soft Soldier's unintentional mastery of Astral Projection that brought the Royal Zephyr Knights into the physical world again. And what was even worse is how this strange new world had a lot more delicious treats that he could freely partake in.“Ye gods,” Odin exclaimed, lifting his white shirt to expose his grayish-brown belly. He inwardly cringed as he felt it bounce and jiggle with the newly given freedom. “I can't believe how fat I've gotten! How did you all allow this to happen?!”
“Not like we can stop you,” R'Shal called out, shaking his head in mock-disappointment but more out of amusement. “Your particular subspecies is known for having an insatiable appetite and we all know what happens when a Zephyrite of your type is denied food.”
“His Majesty is part of that tribe as well, though! He should have known better! The least he could have done was put me on a diet.”
“Not like it matters,” R'Shal shrugged. “As long as you can fight and support the team, you're still one of the most reliable knights the king had… and that the prince has by extension.”
“Are you kidding me?!” Odin exclaimed once again, looking at his fellow knight as if he said something outlandish. “Just look at me! I've turned into a big round ball of dough and I'm just getting fatter by the day! How can you sit there and call me one of the king's most reliable knights when I'm basically a ball of lard?!”
“You don't give yourself enough credit,” R'Shal countered, placing a firm hand on his senior's shoulder. “Were it not for you, we wouldn't have made it out of that temple where we summoned you. You're far from unreliable.”
“Ifing you say so, lad,” Odin sighed, still not convinced. He still couldn't fathom being so big but still having the ability to fight properly, even if his previous combat experiences proved that to be the case. As far as he was concerned, he was just an old fool who couldn't let go of his position out of some twisted sense of pride. R'Shal caught on to these thoughts and quickly followed up with something to lighten the mood.
“I know so,” R'Shal began, a sly grin forming on his face. “Besides, the prince needs someone besides our rookie knight to keep up with his eating habits and Goliath's clearly not going to volunteer!”
“To hell with you!” Odin shouted, brushing past R'Shal and storming out of his quarters towards the mess hall. He hated being reminded of how his appetite was comparable to that of Kodai's since the young Zephyrite reminded him so much of the Zephyr King. Hell, he was practically his spitting image in some aspects. And yet he couldn't deny that R’Shal’s words truly made him feel better.
“I suppose I could stick around a while longer…”
