To be honest I believe the "creep factor" look to this is a mix of Uncanny Valley and the sheer darkness of the lighting. It makes it seem extremely eerie... It's a wonderful art piece, very well drawn.

I looked through your art gallery and you've come a long way. Let me start off by saying that this type of art isn't what I usually look for when I'm browsing DA. I'm referring to the fan-art/comic style stuff. For some reason this caught my attention. But it's not about me at all.
I think you're pretty damn good for the style your aiming at. The overall reaction this is getting is kinda interesting. It seems this is giving off that "uncanny valley" feeling. It's every artists' nightmare. I'm not a pro at this cartoon/comic style, but I can assure you what is causing that off feeling. The line between her lips extruding to her cheek, and her eyes washing out everything else. Let's look at her lips first; for a an easy fix or future references, simply erase part of that line up to the edge of the upper lip. Or, keep the line as is, and modify the actual lips to follow the flow of that line. A visible rise of the left cheekbone would add even more since that happens naturally when we smile. You would have to experiment with that though. Now the eyes. I see many, many artist apply and abuse that popping effect on the eyes, to the point that it washes out everything else around them. Simply put, we viewers would get lost in those eyes without even noticing the rest. I know, we all like to make things pretty, but there are limits. My advice is toning down just a tad bit on the color doge glare in the iris. But most importantly, her right eye; right side of face is darker, therefore is must be true for her right eye. And that is pretty much it. This is not ugly nor creepy, we all know how this character looks by default, so everyone expects to see that "Nintendo look". Stylizing is definitely a task. Keep on working hard dude!

A fantastic reply! These are the kind of reply I hope for to improve myself: telling me what I need to hear in depth.
I've been fighting that uncanny valley impression my work gave out for some time. At the most, I've been told to mute the facial details more, as I have done overtime. But I wanted to have a style of my own by design and coloring instead of just copying what I see.
This actually helps me with fixing the issue in depth. I'll admit, the mouth was supposed to be a thing of mine, but it that will knock that uncanny valley vibe away, I'll be sure to rectify this. As well as the eye glare.

Honestly, I always enjoy your personalized Daisy renditions. I think you're one of the few I've ever seen who really draws her with such a unique look, so in a way it's kind of refreshing when you get to witness that as a viewer. I don't believe everything has to always follow a set formula when it comes to creatively approaching artistic licensing. In my eyes, she's both recognizable and also comes off with a sense of mystique any time you take a try with illustrating Daisy, I like that you're able to just let go and be individualistic with your work. Truly flows naturally within you, so keep up that spirit because it'll really take you places.

I like Daisy art but... idk why other people think of this as cute, but I find it kind of creepy ("Daisy is watching you..."-style). Maybe it's just how her eyes are a bit wider than usual but still...
Nevertheless, it looks quite a fair bit like Brawl's usual realistic-like art style. I like it. I'd give it a 7 out of a 10 at worst. At best, a 9 out of a 10 (still a bit creepy if you ask me).

I'm glad that you like it, but to be honest I wasn't really going for an accurate depiction of the character. I wanted to draw her in my style -- but have it to where it's still a bit recognizable as her. I actually had to spread her eye out due to the enlarged mouth I tend to give my characters. They were much closer and at an earlier point of the design and it only looked more odd and more of a creepy vibe.
Still, I'll consider this the next time I draw her. Any critique helps an inch.

I only liked that it looked a fair bit like Brawl's art style. That means "your" style lives up to my tastes. And I understand about the mouth and eyes, though I definitely think her expression in general is kinda creepy.

Hmm...I don't know if it's the angle of the the shot or something, but it looks like her eyes are a little wider than what they should be.

Quick question, just so I can make a note. By her eyes being wider, do you mean that they're wide as in far apart from each other or just wide in size? I can't say that I was going for an spot-on depiction of the character, but I'd definitely like to make a note of this to polish my art style for later work.
