Anna panicked as she heard the door open, muted heavy footsteps approach her side of the bed. A tall, strapping young man in a dark blue uniform stood at one of the bedposts.
“Hey. I’m sorry for coming in like this, but I heard you cry out from the hallway. Are you-” He cut himself off, she was not alright at all. Her torn dress revealed bandages over her wounds, red spots where blood was seeping through, her pale face frozen in horror, her wide eyes welling with tears. This woman had gone through a terrible ordeal. “…do you need me to get you anything? Or….do you need comforting?” His voice was gentler than Monty’s, but his face looked so similar to her fiancé’s that she couldn’t look at it without fearing the worst.

Anna cowered away from him, putting an arm in front of her face. “Please…p-please, Monty...just leave me alone….get out. Get out, I don't want to see you! Not now, not ever!”
“I'm not-...look. I might not know you ma'am, but you can't just lie alone in the dark and cry without at least someone getting worried. I want to try and help you. Besides, I can’t exactly find my way out.”
The young man sat beside her, and gave her a small smile. “But look on the bright side. At least we’re lost together.”
