Description
#SharubyWeekThe time has finally arrived for us to kick off the Loud House fandom's first-ever (and possibly first annual, who knows?) Sharuby Week, and as prompted, on this first day of this special week for our two little cinnamon rolls, we find them acting side by side in a play for theater club at school; an abridged retelling of Frances Hodgson Burnett's A Little Princess, as depicted in This Will Be Our Year.
Here, we see the play's climax, as Sara and Becky (Shannon and Ruby) make a daring escape attempt from the cruel and heartless Miss Minchin (Luan), the head mistress of the all-girls boarding school where the two not only resided, but were indentured into servitude. As they make a perilous balancing act across a back alley to the house next door, of which one of the inhabitants is their friend, the magical Indian man known as Ram Dass (Leo), Sara discovers that her father, British Army Captain, Richard Crewe (Benny), is alive, after he had been reported has having been killed in the war, due to a clerical error - little did she know that he had been next door all of this time, suffering from amnesia. With Ram Dass's help, Captain Crewe regains his memory, discovers his daughter's plight, and pulls she and her friend to safety.
Even Mrs. Bernardo could see that Shannon and Ruby's chemistry was undeniable, and had decided to go with A Little Princess as their club's next production, so that their chemistry could really shine on stage... that, and with most of her thespians being girls, a story set in a girls' boarding school would give them each an opportunity to have something to do in a play.
It is a good thing that I had begun working on these submissions for Sharuby Week in advance, because, believe it or not, this particular deviation took about four days to complete! Each of the others only took about a day, but this one took nearly four: the composition took about a day to layout and sketch, the inking of everything took another day, and finally, the color filling and everything else took about two days (I believe my computer may be running out of memory, I am not sure). I am just happy that I was able to finish this in time for Sharuby Week!
Now that this week has officially kicked off, there is still much more ahead of us!
