Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City is the latest Resident Evil game set during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3. The game is published by Capcom and developed by Slant Six Games and is available on both PS3 and XBOX 360.

The new Resident Evil game brings up an improved version of gameplay from previous Resident Evil games, and it’s safe to say that it’s actually quite a good improvement. ORC puts the players during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3 in which he plays as a group of Umbrella’s Secret Service called Wolfpack. Wolfpack are set out to clean out all evidence of Umbrella being involved during the outbreak in Raccoon City. The plot of the game is quite good and fits perfectly to that of RE:2 and RE:3.

The AI of the game is one of the few good ones I encountered so far. It’s good but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t have its flaws. Your team-mates do a really good job on fighting for themselves and sometimes really useful if playing on harder difficulties. Though smart in combat they sometimes do run into traps in which the player successfully avoids and get themselves injured.

The game’s multiplayer mode is one of the best features in the game. You can play co-op and play the game with another player or participate in the game’s multiplayer modes Team Attack, Survivor, Heroes and Biohazard.

The game isn’t all that hard if playing on normal and easy but on higher difficulties it is recommended to play with other reliable players online, unless your very experienced in RE games.

The game’s campaign is kind of short and die-hard players will mostly finish the game in a day or two and this is where the multiplayer comes in handy. Some of RE:2’s and RE:3’s heroes and villains make an appearance like the famous Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Ada Wong, HUNK and Nemesis amongst others.

In my opinion the game is good, I really enjoyed myself playing it and had more fun playing it then I had with previous RE games. I really enjoyed the improved gameplay and found it better than the previous gameplay from games such as Resident Evil 5, but that just depends on which type of gameplay the player personally prefers. I really liked playing as Wolfpack and all the classic locations from previous games look awesome in good quality and graphics wise it also looks great.

My overall rating for this game will be a 7.8/10. This game is definitely worth getting for any Resident Evil fan although the story is a bit short and the AI may sometimes do dumb actions, it doesn’t mean you should skip this game as it is one of the best modern Resident Evil games on last-gen.
