Luna is the fusion of Josephine and Lupa, which briefly appeared in "The Waiting Ones". She has the knowledge and power of both beings, but acts more like Lupa. During the battle to protect Citadel from Melothios' army of mind-wiped orcs, she transformed into a towering werewolf giantess, decimating the enemy with magic that rivaled in raw power to 'Second Genesis'. She was also capable of flying faster than a dragon to reach Bejem and single-handedly obliterated Tiger's Eye's warped Weyr form to save a dying Xera.

I honestly feel like Josephine of all people deserves to become Luna again, both as a way for Lupa to make amends for not protecting her from Merit, and for Karyana to pass on the torch, giving Josephine the task to protect what little of Medierth's remaining population so they can cross beyond the Cycle of Life and Death into a new world while Karyana takes on Merit, hoping to revive the dead world afterwards.

Side-note: her weapon was meant to be a two-handed sword, but Josephine has a greater mastery of the bow than the sword.
