Description
YUUMEIART.COMWhile many of us enjoy the luxury of watching TV on our couch with a cold can of soda or beer, the ice caps are melting at an alarming rate. Polar bears that need the ice to hunt and survive are drowning or starving; sometimes forced to search through dumpsters to survive. www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news…
Global warming is undeniably here. 2000-present date was the warmest decade on record worldwide www.epa.gov/climatechange/indi… . This is not part of the natural climate change but a human induced and an abnormally accelerated increase in temperature. Waiting for the countdown until all the ice caps and glacier have melted and water level has risen is not an option.
Many of us think that helping to prevent global warming is just about driving a hybrid car, or getting solar panels, which most people can't afford, so why bother?
While fossil fuel burning cars are a huge source of green house gasses, many other things also add up to create the problem. The manufacturing of anything takes up energy, which is usually created by burning fossil fuel like gas and coal. Relying on oil also lets big oil companies like BP and ExxonMobile get away with oil spills time and time again (with the most recent large spill in Yellowstone national park billingsgazette.com/news/local… ) With that in mind, I'm not saying we should give up everything we own and live in the wild, but any amount of reduce, reuse, and recycle will lessen the amount of new products that needs manufacturing. And that's something we can all do.
Taking public transportation, carpooling, or riding a bike are a cost efficient and healthy way to save energy and money. Even eating less meat (especially cows and pigs), can greatly help because it takes more energy to raise a cow than some crops of the same nutritional value. Cows are also a huge source of methane, which is another type of greenhouse gases that's responsible for global warming.
There are many other small things that we can all do help the environment like turning off the lights when we're not in the room, or not using the AC or heater if we could just take off or put on a jacket instead.
Change is not waiting for the scientists and government to come up with the solution, change starts with the little things we can do everyday.

It has come to my attention that my work closely resembles this one pepey.deviantart.com/art/globa… which was made 2 years before mine. I have never seen this until after I posted my drawing, and people started telling me about the similarities between the two. I did not copy the idea and the similarities are purely coincidental. Congrats to pepey who came up with it first, but please do not assume that I plagiarized.

This is really amazing, it sends a deep message to all of us. I hope you don't mind that I linked this in my post in a Facebook page called Give Love and Save the EARTH , 2 years ago, it was merely a project in school. Today, we're aiming to spread the word of awareness to people all over the world, and I think this piece of art will help us all, well done

How did you go about fabricating the glass container? Is it a painting of a still life object?, is it photographed? Is it secondary imagery? I will appreciate your viewpoint

Amazing art. Even more in how you depict the issue of global warming. I like how you have used an hourglass to represent time and how the sand has been replaced by water.

Wow, this is amazing! I love the concept, it's so unique and it really sends a great message. It's great that you're spreading awareness of global warming, and this drawing hits right into your emotions. The contrasting colors look amazing as well, and the bottom half of the hour glass really gives off a kind of apocalyptic, even toxic, feeling. Great job!

true. Global warmin has effected (well my country anyway) in many floods. Where I live, floods are common, because a small rifer flows bit higher up the mountin we live on, but they've gottten wors because heavier rainfall recently, and other parts of the country has suffered with floods, witch caused around 5 deaths, few injuries, but thousands of pounds in damage. I switch all the lights off I can, my mum get's annoyed saying she was going into that room, but she wasn't in in 10 minuts ago. I have to get a cart to school, because our buss times either make me far to erly to school or late, but I normally get the chool bus.
Nice picture by the way, and I love how it's an hour glass.

Unless we can replenish the ozone layer, which we can't, the Earth is a ticking time bomb no matter what. It will die. Whether it be us with our fossil fuels or the all the cows farting into the air.

not trying to start or anything-but global warming is happening. Ice caps are melting, witch is making the sea level rise, causing more floods and causing more bad weather, because green house gasses. We had a devastating flood around 3 years ago witch left around 5 dead, many injured and thousand of pounds in costs. It is happening, you just don't want it to so you believe against it. But believe what you want, but animals are dying because of this, and if we don't do something, humans will be next. Humans are the biggest threat to man kind, but if you choose not to believe it, then so well be it.

Well its natural for ice to melt. Actually its normal process of physics for ice to melt. The places they claim ice melts, they leave out, that its supposed to melt there; especially during the summer season, which the poles do get. They have been melting every summer for millions of years. And guess what, in the winter, the ice returns like clock work, as always . Politicians and those they only allow to get media play always fail to mention that.
The only change today is now people are around to flood the earth with lies from their mouths.
Simply because believe it or not, turn on the news if you don't believe this, but men will do terrible things in the name of money, and religion. Those things are not necessarily bad on the surface, but once they're hijacked, then truth is sacrificed for the aim of power and control.
Its no different with science, you don't actually believe, a politician in reality would be warning people about global warming do you? Sadly, many politicians claiming to know the science, are deceiving the people for profit .
And they only hire crack pot scientist's to run their trap on the masses.
You've simply been brain washed by the religious humanist movement, which includes elements of fake science, to achieve political goals, which is frankly money, power, then control .
Instead of repeating what you're told, listen to the other science that are trying to tell people there is No global climate crisis. Its made up .
Read the polices they want to enact under the guise of good slogans and causes, its really a game they play to pass laws which enslave the world, and the world listens, because the people in power, control the media they get their "facts" from. which are not facts at all, but plain lies .
Anyone that has no fallen for the lies knows what sinister games are being played .
If anything I would worry more about the governments corruption and how that is putting lives at risk everyday with mass war , chemical pollution of the earth, and blood stream with vaccination frenzies ; and nutrient deficient processed "food", and mind numbing education control.
Or just keep marching to the beat of the media school system drum .The choice is ultimately yours, or yours to give away.

you may say what you want-yes, the ice melts every summer, and comes back winter-in the past, but nowadays, it's melts more than what getting recovered.
and if you think 'm brained washed-I'm not, just believing what is true. There has been real proof of icecaps melting quicker, links to this for floods, and us humans, deforesting habitats, overusing cars when we could use a bus, or even leaving electrics on/charge wen we don't need them all ad up in the end. But I respect what you think, your choice in the end.
