I've been messing around Z Brush and some other 3D programs to test out how well I can incorporate 3D human models into my drawing. I sculpted a few heads in Zbrush which I then painted over in SAI.
Hopefully I'll be able to use more 3D in the future to help speed up my drawing process and to save my hand from being over worked orz. It's nice to not have to paint everything from scratch~
In other news, I'm still in the process of reviewing all of the 3D artist applications. I received way more than I expected and it's taking a long time to go through. I will e-mail a reply to everyone once the final team has been decided. Thank you all again for applying!

I love the colors in this. Your colors are always so bright and captivating. Something really fun when using 3D models as a base is when you start messing with the cameras in 3DS Max. You can get crazy distored perspective with wide angle lenses. Also, best of luck with the 3D team. I submitted a resume, but I am fairly unlikely to do too well compared to professionals because I am still a student... But I can always hope and trust in my abilities. No matter what though, I wish you and your eventual team have a great time and make some awesome art together.

It looks great! I am glad you take care of yourself ^^ We love you and your art, but no one wants you to get hurt.
3D-models or made completely from sketch- your art is beautiful ;;

By using 3D models, it'll be able to keep proportions and shape the same for each characters! Not that you were inconsistent, but it'll be a lot easier on your hands Well done.

I don't care how you make your art, so long as it doesn't hurt your hands worse. Health > everything else. ^^.
That being said, I am AMAZED you could do this. If 3D models will save you time and won't wear your hands down, then I say go ahead and do it. There's nothing wrong with it since we pretty much do that with other things, like humans wearing suits to act like wolves.

It would still be better to focus on your anatomy than relying on 3D models, tbh. Like Yuumei has already done that. I say that because it builds up on your skill, which you should always work on.
She's mainly using 3D models to assist with her hand problems she has gotten from drawing far too much. That's pretty much the only reason why I am not objecting to it because she still wants to make art, despite now having a physical ailment that prevents her from doing such. Similar to me with having carpel tunnel in both wrists, but I take breaks.
Anyways, point is, work on your skills and anatomy before you cheat with 3D models. I even make mistakes with anatomy and refuse to work with 3D models.
I'm not trying to be rude. I'm not thinking well, so if you are confused, just ask. .w.;

Uhh, but, don't you still need to know anatomy to create your own 3D models anyways?
While the models are yours, I'm not able to see it as cheating... just as another way of doing things?
Although this is only my opinion, sorry for the intromission;;;

"Uhh, but, don't you still need to know anatomy to create your own 3D models anyways?"
Well true yes, but modeling and actually drawing it are two completely different things. I could use the models in Clip Studio Paint EX and pose them around, then draw over them, but am I going to learn how to draw the pose again without using the model once again? More than likely no.
Art is a skill you need to work on and I'm trying to not to trace over models because I want to learn how to draw a pose (thus breaking the mold in my brain) without any sort of aide in the future. It's something that my art teacher beat into my head as he did not allow us to trace anything. We had to draw bottles, hats upside down, and other objects to break our brains thought pattern that a hat should look like this and a bottle should look like that. It's to break the picture our brain has in our head to get us to understand concepts like three dimensional objects on a 2D piece of paper.
It's like this:Β Β . We wouldn't know how to draw better if we kept what the brain thought was right (left picture) unless we broke the mold (right picture).
"While the models are yours, I'm not able to see it as cheating... just as another way of doing things?"
This is exactly why I am not pissed Yuumei is doing this. Considering she has a physical ailment that prevents her from drawing for long periods of time, compared to me who can still draw all day when my carpel tunnel isn't flaring up.
I'm just saying it is better for someone who doesn't have a medical condition like Yuumei to use models to better perfect their skills. ^^ But that's up to them and I was offering my own opinion as well.

I completely agree with you, I think I understand all of what you're saying
Drawing and 3D modeling are two different things. Not for only draw, you'll be good in 3D modeling, not for only do 3D modeling, you'll be good in drawing.Β One thing can't replace the other.
I just don't want people to see 3D modeling as inferior or easier that draw. AndΒ I'm not saying you see it that way!
They are just two different things and in each one you need practice to do good stuffΒ c:
I'm sorry if I have mistakes in my English.
