"No... Teddy does all the translating for me.

I can only read Greek, Latin and Oscan - and of course English.", Novius replied.

"So what does it say ", Brody asked - sensing a possible trick.

"It says...

'O Exalted-one! may he be praised, Great of Manifestations, the great Ba whom the gods fear, and who appears on his great throne, make the path of the Ba, the Akh, and the Shadow, for I am equipped so that might shine therein as an equipped-one. Make for me the path to the place in which Re, Atum, Khepri, and Hathor are therein.'", Teddy said, pointing with his paw to each word as he translated it.

"And this Ashraf... could he read it ?", Brody asked.

"Yes... the English words that he used in places were slightly different, but with the same meaning - but that was because he was transliterating, so there are always some slight variations.

Then I asked him to say it out loud in ancient Egyptian.

Now that was the real test, because hieroglyphics is an 'abjad language', as the symbols do not have any vowels.

As Teddy explained to me, most Egyptologist would love to have Ashraf help them, as he could turn ancient Egyptian into a 'spoken language' - but it's not as if we can't guess at the vowel sounds, but we may not be saying them quite right - and you should remember that when you say ancient Egyptian names, like those of the pharaohs." Novius said.

"So you think that he has really lived in ancient Egyptian times ?", Brody asked - intrigued.

"Yes, I do, and I think that the fact that he is here today is because of the sarcophagus", Novius replied.
