I'd suggest very subtle eye motion as if he's moving his eyes only enough to keep all the balls in his peripheral vision (which is better at seeing motion) so eye motion would be a touch toward the "furthest" ball or the hand making the catch at a given moment.

Oh! Original, cute, smooth animation! Love your emotes, wish we could use 'em! You're going to end up convincing me to start making emotes too!
