History:

Renaissance class is compact multipurpose ship designed to replace Constitution class ships.  Class was created as mid range explorer, excellent in exploration and surveying the sectors on the borders of the Federation. Ship is decently armed and protected but it has high impulse speed that allows it to quickly run out of danger zone if needed. Although Starfleet planned over two hundred of this ships in the end only eighty six were constructed and last ship USS Hokkaido was launched in 2337. By the end of Dominion war thirty one ship remains in service, all that recieved extensive retrofit to its systems. Due large number of new classes entering service, Renaissance was deployed on less dangerous sectors as patrol and survey ship.

During the war with Dominion this ships also act as tugs, due fact of having strong tractor beam installed. By the 2387 only fourteen ships remains and rest were retired and placed on surplus depos with rest of the class believed to be retired in 2405.
