Description The main trend of development for mecha units was mostly skewed towards high-mobility bipedal models. Their versatility and relatively fast rate of production made them the preferred configuration for quite a few generations across the major corporations. One smaller corporation that refused to follow the current trends was an operation called Xanosys. Rumored to be composed of ex-engineers and developers from some of the larger entities, many of Xanosys' production models featured unusual or irregular designs. The first iteration of the 4LA2 Core series was one such model. Dubbed 'Alpha Quadrus' as the first of its type, this medium-class combat unit featured four insect like legs that were attached to a lower body via flexible polymer cables. While not capable of ground speeds as high as bipedal models, the Alpha Quadrus were incredible stable and able to scale virtually any services due to their dynamic ranges of motion. In addition to sturdiness, they could also retract the legs into a more compact "siege state" and anchor the units for defensive lines. This unusual innovation in mecha development would catch the eyes of competing development teams as the years passed.
