Hard Shell is the boss of level 5 in Blaster Master. A giant mutant crab, it attacks by moving sideways along the top of the screen while unleashing an increasing barrage of bubbles. The in-game sprite is large and pretty well drawn.

Hard Shell lives up to its name with a jagged spiky outer carapace. I tried to replicate that with the sharp points seen here. The rest of the design was fairly straight-forward with its legs and claws. I do think the original sprite work lends itself well to a 2d emblem.
