hey. ive only been a member here for like a few months or so and this is only like the fourth time ive logged into this thing, but i found your drawing and i decided id like to use it for a book cover if agreements could be made, because ive been writing a book for a while now and im thinking about self publishing. so whenever i stop being a lazy asshole and log into this again, ill see if your interested.
P.s. im willing to pay for the use of this. i dont plan on just borrowing work like this. that's fucking skill right there.

it appears to me
quoting alarms
the guillotine smirks in
your house i smothered
sight unseen
sworn to harm
ground to a powder
and soaked through
the board
don't you ever,
ever, ever
trust my mercy
when will you flirt
with all
that's burning
keep them safe
and by your side
of all that's left
a lucid home
anecdote settles
in the smear
of this corpse
if the larvae speaks
ask where to go
they mount the maker
with a sulphur in fume
don't you ever, ever, ever
trust my mercy
of all the warnings
that you gave me
with all components in the fault
have you ever heard me scraping
it will be hard to hold
all i hear mending the gap
fall in here
might not make it back
call that someone
may they hear you
take me with you
it's not safe in here
and all you ask is
why
i'm certain you're
holding on
mirror floats to the surface
of all the
warnings
that you gave me
with all components
in the fault
have you ever
heard me scraping
it'll be hard to hold
they lost the presence
they were holding
looks like the tenants flickered off
if the cell that holds me breaks me
it will be hard to hold

This is a beautiful rendition of the Ouroboros...appears as a unified circle but then slowly reveals intriguing details and otherworldly logic. The motifs in the corners are an excellent touch, creating a sense that there is no definite up or down, and reinforcing the circular movement. Wonderful details, is archaic and novel at the same time. Like it very much!

Amazing work! Is there any chance you would design something similar to this (Another Ouroboros) for a tattoo? Perhaps a bit simpler but similar style. Do you take commissions?

I would need to agree with the others that this is a wonderful pieces. It is self-completing in it's imagery and as a piece of art. I like the depth of detail and time it probably took to make, though I'd be intrigued to know what the colors would have been, had it been in color. *Applause*

Hey, thanks.
I hadn't actually thought about colors for this, black and white seemed more fitting somehow.

I love how you managed to throw the basic concept of the Ouroboros and just develop it further. I really like all the detail in this. I could probably look at it for hours and still overlook some of the beautiful detail in this.

This is a great take on Ouroboros. Not only have you captured the infinite concept so well, you even inlaid more infinity deep into the page, creating vast endlessness. Lovely detail and composition. It's gorgeous for a bad photo.

There are beginnings and endings everywhere, and yet they never truly begin or end! Everything an Ouroboros is. Amazing. I can't stop looking at it. There are so many little details, my eyes just keep going.
The addition of more ouroboros in the middle of the picture, continuing back as far as we can see is a nice touch.

Awesome. Love the wings and legs and the odd jaw where the jawbone would be on the foremost... snake swallowing thing.
Any reference to Norse mythology, ie. the Midgar Serpent that swallows its own tail, lives in the sea, and kills/is killed by Thor? I think it's Thor, anyway.

zarathus In reply to Lorr [2007-07-18 09:58:24 +0000 UTC]
Yep, it's Thor
But no, it wasn't a reference to that. The ouroboros is sorta a symbol of its own, with a few different meanings. Some info here - [link]
Thank you!
