after thinking about it for a very small amount of time i found at least a dozen different similarities between ford and gaster and i wasn't even scraping the barrel, does anyone here wanna hear them?

SO.Β getting the obvious ones out of the way: is incredibly intelligent but not good with people, built some hyper complex technology that is possibly hundreds of years ahead of it's time, got sent to another dimensional plane via said technology, hands have a neato uncommon feature, is mainly referred to with nicknames and titles rather than his own name, and even though he's obviously hugely important and significant nobody seems to know anything about him.

Sorta less obvious stuff but still significant: has a somewhat bumbling sidekick who is leaps and bounds more likeable than him, is hounded by an invader from another dimension, is morally compromised, all about the ends justifying the means, inadvertently put the lives of two twins he's related to in danger largely because he was too dumb to actually be open about anything, and he doesn't value the intelligence of one of said twins even when it is very apparent if you bother to look just because the other twin's intelligence is more similar to his own (ok didn't realize i was still salty about that, ford seriously didn't respect mabel nearly as much as he should have)
