You say this, but wouldn't that be like rewarding him for being reckless & unable to reign in his curiosity? Restraint & knowing when some things are better left alone are both very important character traits, especially in terms of self-preservation.

I mean, yes he should have to reign in his curiousity, but not being able to satiate it is a part of making things easier.
He's not going to stop doing stupid things out of sheer interest of seeing the result until he finally finds out everything he "needs" to find out.

Now, that I can agree with. It's an intrinsic part of who he is after all. What I meant was that he never seems to learn from his mistakes.
