After hearing from Papyrus what happened last time, Sans gathers up the energy for one last try. He asked him about whether or not he had a choice a long long time ago , and Gaster didn't answer. Now here we are!
A far cry from how debates with Sans used to go . I wonder if Gaster's going to make a decision soon.

but seriously, sans does have a really big point.... he could've died out of lack of natural DT but he literally chooses to keep staying DETERMINED for Papyrus, whether or not he likes it. Papyrus could've given up a long ass time ago to just do his own thing and simply survive without the need of convincing to show Gaster that he can still be good. He has no reason to continue doing that, in fact, and yet he still does!
Meanwhile, Gaster has literally projected all of his own torment onto them, that they "dont have a choice", that its "too late" and other bullshit that he's been just telling himself (which are untrue) and believed them for such a long time. He doesn't want to change his path because, as weird as it sounds, it's the easiest path to take. Because, like i said before, he convinced himself that its true. If he takes another path there are a buncha stuff that he's too afraid of dealing with because it'll be like reprograming your brain. Which is as scary as it sounds, even IF the thing you are doing is the ACTUAL GOOD THING TO DO.
Believing this is 1) "the right thing to do" and 2) "you don't have a choice, anyway" is like double confirming your actions like a twisted way to lock yourself up in a safe but cold cage/prison, you can get past the coldness, the dirtiness even the darkness of it all because you're "used to it" and "its not like you can get out of it anyway" bit the plot twist of it all is that ou have the key t get out. Kinda like the whole "Allegory of the Cavern" thing.
its really fucked up.
But anyway good job! this is really going in a very interesting direction.

I love Papy because he is always the sweet one and the one who believes in everyone, but holy crap I adore how Sans can go from lazy and happy to dead serious and creepy in a heartbeat.

Also I know this is random but I cann't help but wonder, with his experiments, how Gaster will find out about Sans's ability to ignoring invincibility frames...and also how you would explain invincibility frames. I've got my own ideas on how that works in game but I cann't help but be curious at what you'll come up with :3 you're ideas tend to be pretty interesting.

Now, originally I was hoping to stay away from Undertale content when coming to this website. I loved the game, but I try to avoid it as best as I can.
This though is an exception to my desire to avoid it.
BUT, this story here actually amazed me. I love your attention to detail, and the way you expanded on Papyrus and Sans' characters. You have them spot-freaking-on, miss.
I love how Papyrus doesn't seem to be all that bright, but he's much more thoughtful and observant than he seems. He sees the bright side of things. I was actually really surprised when Gaster attempted to pin Papyrus with the "choose who you would kill" question, only for Papyrus to legitimately point out the flaws in Gaster's side of the argument. That's freaking impressive and profound. He truly sees the good in everything and everyone, and I personally wish I could be as undyingly brave and faithful as him.
I can't help but notice that every time the two brothers see into the future, Sans only sees the bad things, while Papyrus sees the good things.
You're also very detailed, and you have everything well thought out. You even came up with some profound stuff, like that argument between Papyrus and Gaster over the skeleton who had to make a choice who to kill.
So thank you for not only catching my attention, but holding it, and genuinely surprising me with a very well thought out story and expansion of pre-made characters. I applaud you, ma'am, I am truly amazed.
Can't wait to see where this goes next!

Y'know, one of Gaster followers in-game asks Frisk if Alphys will follow in his footsteps. And we all know that Alphys can determinantly commit suicide by what we assume is throwing herself off somewhere.
Perhaps it could mean that in Handplates Gaster's "accident" was him actually killing himself. Overcome with guilt, he frees the brothers unbeknownst to them, by unlocking everything in the lab overnight, or something. Then he kills himself in that same night by throwing himself into his creation.
Then the brothers wake up in that lab the next day with no idea what the hell they are doing there. They loot the lab trying to search for answers...that's how they end up with Gaster's clothes in some of the bro's visions.

i believe gaster is kind of a nice person on the inside (but from the new comics i'd say he locked his good side) he hurts them and they start to have powers or learn about them... trying to break the barrier or trying to make them stronger to do it and he couldnt give mercy knowing that his creations would die i guess thats why he just keeps saving them but they have to have powers so they can defend themselfs

Aside from Sans' balls here, it's really kind of Gaster to give them hot-dogs isn't it ? I mean he could just give 'em whatever cat food laying about and be done with it, but this is actual real food like the spagetthi. There's even a side dish thing, like chips or something on the plate.
