I was like this when I had to put my cat to sleep. It's weird, you think you'd be balling your eyes out but you just feel numb for a while.Β

That was about how I felt when I had to put my cat down. I cried more beforehand, and afterward, but when it happened it was more a blank feeling.
I wound up working out a lot of my emotions through writing, much like Zarla's doing with these comics.

Same, I had to draw a picture for her after. But even though I wasn't crying or anything I wouldn't put down the blanket I put over her cause she had cancer so I tried to make her as comfortable as I could. I still have the blanket in my room even now.Β

My cat Bill died of cancer too. He was very old, but I feel like he would've kept on going for a while had it not been for the cancer.
I wound up saving a tuft of his fur--I keep it between the pages of one of my sketchbooks, where I sketched some pictures of him.
We put him to sleep a year and a half ago, but thinking about him still gets to me sometimes. There was a song I would sing to him, and when we brought him to the vet to have him put down, I sang it to him one last time. I can't bring myself to listen to the song anymore.

Yeah my cat was about 14 or 15 but we still have her sister and she's doing fine.Β
I did too qwq I have like a glass cabinet with about 4 shelves and the top one is all tributes for her along with her urn. I still have pictures of her as a kitten too ;;Β

Bill was 15. We have another cat who grew up with him, and she's 17 now. She's got thyroid issues we're treating, but otherwise is pretty healthy (for as old as she is).
We don't have too many pictures of Bill, but I found videos I'd saved of him. I wish I'd saved more.
Yeah... I don't blame you there. Losing a pet you've had for most of your life is always an awful thing to go through.

That face...I know that face. I've seen that face in the mirror. The blank stare of loss that doesn't quite seem real. The emptiness, even though you know you should be feeling something. Anger, fear, sadness...they should be there, but there's just nothing. You feel likeΒ a hollowed out shell. Like you don't really exist, or somehow exist outside the stream of time. Like you're a ghost, and observer...not real. I know that face because I know that feeling of not feeling. And that's why this hurts me so badly- because I've been there, where Papyrus is in this, and it brings me back to that dark place, and I don't want to go back there.
