I should super be in bed but wanted this finished so bad. *o* I started it Friday and it's all I've wanted to do since.

This started as a quick tile sketch to practice the concept of knees, because... you know, I should really focus on learning things like that, lest I be drawing weird ribber limbs forever. It wound up being stupid 'dorbs, so I expanded it into a proper sketch and from there into a proper print-sized piece. (As a confession, despite all of this, I'm still not super sure I got the anatomy completely right, but... well, those knees look like knees, dangit! I think. Personally. >>; )

I don't do dogs much, or... anything with a proper muzzle. That's a bit weird of a thing to tack on to knees, I guess. I've more or less had this image dancing around in my mind for a while now, tho, so that was as good an excuse to get it out as any. This is also a pose I've struggled with forever, and I feel like it's almost okay for once! Which is a lot better than my usual result of "I would like to burn this with hate rays from my eyes, please."

Also, more of my now-constant dabbling with environmental lighting and color temps and such, as well as a light bloom from the firelight. I somewhat worry I overdid it, but something about getting cozy by the fire strikes me as a balance of extremes, so... I tried. Yes.

Finally, tried a different approach to colored outlines, which also let me shade them pretty handily, solving several older problems I've had with that method. Not sure if I'll take this approach into Lonely in the future, but I'll at least give it a proper try, I'm sure.
