Description
An infrared photograph of the Pyramid Khafre at Giza. Khafre was the fourth king of Dynasty 4. The pyramid is surrounded by a cemetery of the king's relatives and courtiers whose tombs contains Khafre's name. The practice of being buried in tombs surrounding the king was a common practice from the first dynasties of Egypt until the Middle Kingdom.
