It has been a long-ass while since I've done anything related to my SU Metal headcanon and so far i've done nothing but making new Metals but never actually used them (well that can be said about 80% of the characters I make) so have this piece of fan trivia:

Note: This is just my headcanon for the Cartoon Network show, Steven Universe. This is completely fan-made and doesn't affect the actual show in any way. I'm just making this for the sake of personal enjoyment so please take this with a grain of salt.

When Gems and Metals used to be together, Jaspers and Steels often had competitions about which one was the strongest and powerful. Most of these competitions were more like tough games and friendly combats where the objective was to see which one backed down, sometimes resulting on the Jasper winning and others on the Steel succeding and others with even results. However, due to some Jasper's stubborness and some Steel's determination, there have been cases where the fights were taken so far and deadly that resulted on someone shattered and that sometimes even included other Metals not involved, creating some tension in the Metal-Gem relationship altogether. But since these shattering combats didn't occured very commonly things were pretty cool for everyone.

Also in case you're wondering, that's not the show's canonical Jasper but one with similar appearence. Note the location of her core and different red stripes. Remember that this is taking place before the events of Steven Universe, even way before the Gem War.
