Eeko continued to question Susan, who just shrugged in return. “I don’t think he has parents, darlin’. One of those…. Gut instincts? Maternal instincts? Whatever Nana’s always sayin’ us three have.”
“I just- I trust you, but what if-”

Before they could finish, Nana walked towards them, planting a kiss on each of her wife's cheeks. “Our wee new friend’s lovin’ this picnic! So have we figured out where they came from yet?”
Eeko shook their head, and Susan shrugged. Nana, optimistic as ever, just smiles. “Well, looks like Susan’s pure of heart enough to lure in a whisperkit!”

Susan blushed and stuttered something. Eeko gave a defeated yet loving sigh. “Don’t encourage her, Nana-”

“Well, I guess we have another kit on board now. Do we have any cubbies spare at the den?” Susan asked, still blushing like crazy.

“..One. The one that the kiddies have been avoiding, saying that it’s meant for… someone else.” Nana replied, thinking. “Damn, maybe this kiddie really is magic.”

I hope not, thought Eeko, what if it’s a curse in disguise and we’re letting it right into the heart of the community?
But they just nodded, as the three split off again to help care for the kits, and hoped in their heart that this was all a big coincidence.
