Probably my final submission for the SetoKisa week. I would have posted it earlier but I was a bit sick during this week and I was also moving out. I wanted to draw blond Kaiba Critias for a while now. Also reverse blueshipping XD It takes place sometime after Dartz transformed the knights to dragons to "weaken them". Why he did that is beyond my understanding, I mean they could just eat him but eh whatever, here have some angst :'DRelated content

I saw a fanfic give a really funny take on why the Knights became Dragons. in that fic, Dartz explained: "The Atlantean for 'Death' and 'Dragon' is the same, with a slight difference in pronunciation". so he mispronounced his spell and ended up turning the Knights into Dragons instead of killing them. it was pretty hilarious XD
and I've seen other ideas as well. a popular headcanon is that Dartz and the Three Knights were good friends before, and Dartz didn't want to kill them so he changed them instead. and another headcanon (in a fic that is basically AU-ish) is that the Knights could turn into Dragons by themselves, Dartz only sealed them in that form.

My headcanon is that they were his knights, since he was a king in Atlantis and all OwO but then he god fucked up by orichalcos ''ID

that is one of my headcanons as well. my headcanons really vary a lot XD but my main is that they were human/Duel Spirit hybrids, as well as knights of Atlantis.

just the whole idea of human/Spirit hybrids adds so many more options... like, what if Dartz is part Spirit as well?

I came up with the theory recently and I was like "...Huh, that actually makes more sense than it should..."
because, well... first, it would explain why his hair is so weird (that is the only not-really-serious reason XD), second, it explains how he can use magic (though that MIGHT be the Orichalcos at work), and third, it explains why the Orichalcos didn't turn him into a monster but rather turned him into its servant. all the humans turn into monsters, but Dartz does not.
...also, it would explain why Chris and her (half-)Silver Fang, Sunny, seem to understand each other so well, and it explains why Chris could ask the Spirits for help. she inherited some of the Spirit genes from her father.
OK, this theory does sound a little far-fetched, but it also makes sense. I usually include this theory in my stories as just a rumor, but it would be fun to use it as truth once...

if it was because he's a king, then his father would share those traits, but he doesn't. that's why I think the theory makes sense.
