Description
As the steam locomotives of West Coast Railways awoke to a cloudy Cambrian morning, many of them found themselves being pulled outside. This could only mean one thing; Testing day.As they were fired up, each took their turns moving around the yard under their own steam, in order to be prepared for the season of railtours in the coming months. However, the surprise to them all, was the sight of a Bulleid Pacific who had recently finished her initial tests for operation.
"Isn't that Rebecca?" Asked George, the Black 5. He and Galatea had already completed their tests, and were observing the others.
"Yeah," Galatea said with a smile. "Word around the shed's that she's been leased by the North Western, and they're sending one of their engines here to take her place."
"Huh," the Black 5 said, raising an eyebrow.
However, as Rebecca began to build up steam, she wasn't so sure. She decided to confide in Carnforth's resident shunter, Lindsay.
"I'm worried, Lindsay..." The Bulleid Pacific sighed. "What if I'm too much for the Fat Controller?"
"Have you seen some of the NWR's residents? Taking care of you would be a walk in the park!" Lindsay joked.
Rebecca couldn't help smiling.
