Head low, hidden in a thick coat
Invisible, I see him
The crowd surrounds him
He speaks out
"Excuse me, have you got the time?"
No reply. No reply
I see him forever, hidden away everyday
"Excuse me, have you got the time?"
The crowd checks its watch
No reply. No reply. He walks away
I sit away from the crowd
By the fountain, in the sun
He pushes through
Invisible, I see him
Passing, he looks to me
He wears his smile, like shallow waters on stone
"Excuse me, have you got the time?"
Visible, I smile to him
"Yes," I say, "I do."
