The three girls followed Janice back to her home just a minute away from the dorms despite their better judgement to sleep that night. For some reason, however, not a single one felt tired on the way over. Janice's description of a shadow-like creature entering their home hit a bit too close to home. It was almost as if Janice had encountered Ty the Ire. They followed her silently up to her room on the third floor of her twenty-four story complex and entered without much of an expectation. What they didn't think of was finding a pool of blood in the middle of her room with human body parts scattered around.
"I heard my roommate scream earlier in the night," Janice explained, "She was screaming for awhile and then I heard this pop and splatter sound right after. I got out of my bed and rushed outside to find this with a creepy shadow-like figure in the middle of the room wearing something like a suit and tie. He just stood in the middle of the bloody mess with a big toothy smile and big red eyes. I just stood there not knowing what to do and he just said this to me before he left." Janice faced them with a grim expression on her face. "He told me 'The three who live in the dorms... the one's I visited a few nights before. I know you can see and hear me, and I know for a fact you saw me enter their room. Pass along this message when you can: my master's patience is growing thin. That means that we Ires will become more aggressive the longer you keep him waiting, so don't dilly-dally any longer.' And just like that, he left, and all I could think of was finding you three immediately." Amber and Layla were completely shocked by the entire story. Blake stared at the bloody remains of what used to be a living human just minutes before they had arrived. It's just as I thought; he's still a dangerous Ire, Blake noted.
"I've seen those shadow creatures in just about every accident that's happened recently. The ones I'm going to assume are called Ires, since that's what that thing referred to himself and them as," Janice continued talking, "Since that one knew you guys somewhat, I'm going to take a guess that you see them as well?" All three froze for a moment, trying to think of something that wouldn't give away what they were. Layla was the one to speak first.
"Yeah, we can see them," Layla confirmed for Janice, "But we don't know why they're looking for us. That thing just visited us one night and we don't know what to do after that." Janice looked as though she was skeptical for a little bit, but eventually nodded in acknowledgement. Blake knelt down to inspect the remains of Janice's roommate. Blood splattered the carpet along with guts and other fleshy parts that she couldn't figure out. It was almost as if the person was made to explode like a human bomb or even like overfilling a balloon until it popped, Blake analyzed. In any case, the method was meticulous, unlike the barbaric attacks of normal Ires. Without a doubt in her mind, Blake knew that it had to have been Ty.
"I guess we can assume that he really wants us to meet with his master, whoever that is," Amber said lowly. The threat was real enough. She was well aware of the reason why Ty would do something so senseless despite claiming to be civilized. It was a demonstration of power; an intimidation tactic to show how powerful Ty could be if they ignored him and his master's orders. She grit her teeth in anger and disgust; the tactic was a cowardly one, something that did not need to happen. Blake stood up and walked over to Amber and Layla.
"It's definitely Ty's work; there's no other Ire that can attack with this much sophisticated effort," Blake reported, clenching her fists. Janice nodded almost emotionless save for a single tear that left her eye. That roommate didn't deserve something like this, Layla thought as she watched Janice's tears fall silently, how cruel; they weren't even involved in this. Amber began to pace around, deep in thought. On one hand, this incident couldn't be hidden forever. Janice would need to report it and explain why there was a student from Cor Fortium suddenly dead. The problem, on the other hand, was that no one would believe that Janice was innocent. The real killer is something that can be described as almost fictional. This meant that even though she would have Amber, Blake and Layla telling them the truth, police and the court would never believe it. That meant that the only way that this was going to work out for them was to call that person as missing, hide the remains of the corpse, and clean up the mess as if none of it really happened. That was the one outcome that proved to be the safest bet, and it was the one that she disliked the most.
"We better head over to see Ty soon then," Layla concluded after a period of silence. The three girls agreed in silence and helped Janice to clean up the mess as thoroughly as they could. They promised to go with her as moral support when she would go to report to the police the next school day as well as help with funeral preparations however they could. In return, Janice offered her help in creating excuses as to why the three girls were to be absent for the amount of time they would need to be away from school to tend to Ty's matters, which was assumed to be for at most three days of school starting next Monday. After everything was said and done, Layla excused herself and pulled Blake aside to speak in private.
Blake wasn't quite sure what to expect from Layla wishing to talk to her in private at a time like this. Despite her thoughts, she followed her friend outside the apartment and deeper into the hallway until they reached the end where they were no where near Amber or Janice talking about the possible three days of absence from school. The girl was silent through their brief walk together, which Blake found to be almost nerve-wracking. Layla was the more reserved and quiet of her two best friends, but she would never get this eerily so. Blake was beginning to wonder if something was wrong with Layla when the girl finally stopped walking. Blake stopped abruptly as well, nervously rubbing the back of her head as she waited silently for the other girl to speak up. The silence loomed for a while with neither opening their mouths to speak. Blake twirled her thumbs in the awkward silence to keep herself focused and ceased immediately when Layla finally turned to face her. She was surprised to find Layla's eyes tearing up significantly, silently sobbing over something.
"Layla? What's wrong? Why are you crying?" Blake asked all at once, stepping closer to wipe the tears from Layla's face. She didn't move nor speak; just silently standing there facing Blake as her tears continued to fall. She didn't want to talk to Blake like this and she didn't want to give Blake a misunderstanding. However, just thinking about what had happened to a student of her school being killed like that had struck a cord with her. It was one thing to see your friends nearly dead from an experience they were involved in alongside you; it's another thing to see an innocent victim killed for something they had no idea about. And it was an entirely different beast when another is traumatized by that same killing.
"Blake, I'm scared," Layla managed to say, choking back her sobs, "I keep reminding myself about what we've - you and Amber - have gotten into and I'm terrified about what those Ires can do. They just killed someone from our school; a student that had no idea as to why they were killed. Not only that, Janice, who was in the same position, now has to deal with it as well as leave a message intended for us while we can do nothing about the situation. I just..." Layla's trailed off, lost through the tears and tremors shaking throughout her body of the horrid reality that they had just witnessed. Blake remained silent, continuing to wipe away the tears her friend shed for the one who didn't have to die. After all, life has never been fair, Blake reminded herself bitterly, nothing is fair. It did hurt, though, to find out that someone innocent had been killed because of their involvement. The thought that the bloodied remains of someone once alive were because of their involvement in something that few could ever describe was almost haunting. Blake felt a weight being placed on their shoulders - the weight of a human killed by something they had no clue about. Still though, Blake was aware that Layla was very new to this kind of thing, so she couldn't help but to sympathize. Amber came out of Janice's room and informed Blake and Layla about how Janice was now asking for them to leave her alone. They returned to their room and locked the door. No one could fall asleep or find the means to make themselves sleepy. Rather, everyone was being restless. Of course, it was expected since they had just helped someone hide the evidence of a person freshly dead as well as report that person as missing since the real reason for that death was so bizarre.
"Ugh, this is just," Amber began to voice her frustration, pacing around the living room. Layla had crashed onto the couch, covering her eyes as she tried her best to hold in her sobs. Blake was the most calm; she leaned against the wall and lost herself into her thoughts.
"Amber," Layla's voice croaked, her composure slowly crumbling in the privacy of their home. It was soft, but it was enough for Amber to catch. Right before she could go on another outburst, Amber turned to Layla. Just seeing her normally level-headed and calm friend so shattered and vulnerable made her anger subside. Blake took notice of Layla as well, leaning off the wall and walking over to the couch. Neither girl could really say anything to make her feel better; neither one was really alright either. Regardless, Blake felt the need to remind them of what they needed to do.
"We have to stop this before it gets out of hand," Blake spoke quietly. No one responded, but it was all agreed upon that Ty needed to be stopped before things got worse.
Despite their weary states from getting no sleep, they all headed out towards the abandoned building once more. It was the location Ty had mentioned to meet them in order to reach its master. Blake was having her doubts.
"There's no way that Ty would have just killed a human just to warn us to hurry up," she mumbled quietly. If Ty wanted nothing more than to have them met it right away, he could have just made an example out of one of them instead. There was no need for Ty to go out of its way to prove a point on someone else. It just didn't make sense to Blake. Then again, she thought, it is an Ire; they will hurt humans regardless, I guess. Too soon for all of them, they arrived at the building once more. It wasn't even considered a building anymore; after their battle with Melody, the damage was so severe that it was nothing more than a large pile of rubble from the building collapsing in on itself after destroying its main room so much. Amber swallowed audibly. Her nerves were going crazy telling her to turn around and leave immediately. Layla didn't fare any better; although she didn't show it, she was deathly scared. She wasn't like Amber and Blake with a means to protect herself from an Ire's attack. One false move or an Ire's measly whim could mean her death within seconds.
"I guess we better head inside," Blake steeled herself, stepping towards the ruins. Layla followed right behind as Amber had her aura wrap around her protectively. It was deathly silent inside. No sign of a well-dressed Ire nor anything at all. Blake stopped in the middle of the rubble and activated her aura, encircling it around Layla and Amber. Before either girl could ask, a familiar voice rang out into the open.
"There's no need to be so scared," the familiar voice spoke in a raspy tone, "It's just me; your local, friendly and well-dressed Ire."

I am very surprised that you used up the word friendly, Ty.
