"My dearest Lyria,
Please take this magnifying glass, the mirror, and the chocolate (I know how you love that brand, they have that rice paper wrapping...) as a token that I am yet alive. I have not been killed, but I must tell you that you should not consider me alive. I have no way of returning. Farewell, my child.
Please do NOT use the magnifying glass at any cost. Especially take care that you do not look into a mirror with it. I have said too much, but let me just say that this device has something to do with why I am damned away from you, my loving family. You are after all my only child left, and without your mother we are few, but still a family. I knew that you would be hurt more than anything with news of my going missing. But please know that I am alive and you are not alone. I admonish you to not attempt to find me, as I am not in any place that can be reached. I only wished to let you know that you are not yet an orphaned woman.

That is what the note said, wrapped around a tiny canister and tied with a bow. It somehow appeared in the mirror, in the downstairs servant quarters. Some of the other servants say that it is where a young woman used to have her room, but it has been decades since that family lived here. Indeed, says the washer woman who works with you day in and day out (Elanda) the family was pronounced dead. Not only the father, but the daughter too, also went missing. Thus the house going for auction. A rich plantation owner bought the place, bringing his army of shall we say, house servants? He is a distant and kind man, despite the disreputable opinion many like him come to deserve.
But that canister indeed has the mirror in it, and a magnifying glass.

"is this his grave?" I say now worried that your going to be sad again as I try to check the grave to be certain that it was his grave hoping that it wasn't as we look at the words on the grave to see who it belongs too

Indeed it was his grave. She looked at you. "Maybe...we can bring him back from the dead"

"how would that be possible?" I ask as I don't know how we could do that. "do you know of a way to bring him back? if not it may be better just to rest in peace"

She shook her head, "I don't know we can do it...but maybe there's something we can leave inside him and that will bring him back. maybe something..." She stopped after a while and cried. (sorry this has been such a downer lol)

"I don't know how either but if there is a way we can find it otherwise if not then we may have to leave him in peace" I say trying to calm you down as I give you a motherly hug which would feel nice to anybody

Lyriah hugged you back, crying on your shoulder for a bit and then when it was over looked out at the grave. "I think...I'll have to think about how to do this for a long time...but maybe I'll just accept his death. I mean, there's probably no way to bring him back. Perhaps...we should just try and forget about this" she said, shaking a little.

"do you want to go back to my garden and change me a little bit or maybe go to a different world for fun that is you know just to get your mind off this Lyriah." I say hoping the suggestions help you feel better or get your mind off death

"yeah, let's go" she said simply, and gave you the glass and the crystal ball. She simply stood and waited to see what you wanted to do. She seemed distant, ready to be distracted.

I hold her hand as I use the crystal ball to take us back to my garden as I look around I go back to the age tree "want to see what I look like when I get older?" I ask her "or would you rather see me when I was younger" I gave her a choice on which path I should go through

"Hmmm let's see what you look like when you're older. Like, 25" She held your hand close and stayed near.

"Okay then" I use the magnifying glass on the age tree as I go to the number representing my age and changed it to a 25 as I then exit the tree as the changes happen to me and the tree

She watched as you grew a little more, lost your child-like curves and settled right into woman-like beauty.
"Wow, you age well!" said Lyriah, a little out of her slump.

"Thanks I can't believe I grow up so well" I say as I watch the tree change again

The flowers grew out and unfurled all the way, becoming larger. Lyriah smiled, "you haven't turned into everything you want yet, have you? I wanna see what happens when you are an exotic creature of some kind!"

"Well how do I turn myself into an exotic creature?" I ask lyriah as she has more experience in changing into different forms

She laughed, and opened her bag, "well, we can try your spring, or drop that lingerie somewhere or try taking something from the real world that you want to put somewhere. Here, whatever you pick up likely will change something, but in the real world things don't change like that. So we can grab a few fun items and take them back in here and try them out on you if you want" she smiled, giggling a little to herself. She seemed to be in a better mood.

"um okay sure let's do that" I say as I then ask "so where do you want the spring to be for now since I have no clue where to put it besides back in my hair" I tell her as I want her to make some decisions as well.

She shrugged, "we don't have to use it. we can just keep it for now." She dropped it in her bag with the lingerie and the other items that had been taken out. She laughed.

"okay well I always wanted to see what it would be like to be an animal or a unique creature so should we look for some items to change my body till I'm something unique or do we have enough?" I ask Lyriah as I'm glad to see her happy

She shook her head, "well, I have some things leftover from my journeys, but honestly it's hard to say what would work for turning you into a straight up animal. For example, for me a stripe and a claw was all I needed in my body section to turn into a tiger, but for you it might be something else."

"oh okay then well let's at least head to the body tree then to at least get started" I say as we head over to the body tree, which was still the same as last time I left it as I see which parts represent certain body parts

Lyriah watched as you moved into the body tree. "This is fascinating. You've got a flesh and bone section, a hair and skin section, and a section based on your place on the tree of life...I only just started learning about that. Apparently all animals are related somehow. We are all just like different breeds of dogs." She said, her eyes partially closed, like she was trying to remember something.

"so your saying we can change my species if we wanted to if we change something in the body tree?" I ask as I then see what the place on the tree of life is represented by and if that was the part i needed to turn myself into an animal.

On the tree of life tree there were various symbols all over it. Near the base of the tree there were blobs, and then at the leaves there were pictures of animals you knew of today and some that you hadn't seen yet. There was only one fruit on this tree and it showed you. the leaves around it looked like humans and a little ways back the branches had pictures of various homonids. "We would probably have to look at this tree with the glass. Put pick a place on it carefully!" she said.

"okay then" I use the magnifying glass on the tree of life to see how I can change myself in some way as I look at what the magnifying glass showed me as I used it on one of the leaves of the mammals there

When you magnify the spot on the tree, it expands to show a forest with a little meadow and standing in it is a little prehistoric horse. It has two fangs sticking out.

"what's with the prehistoric horse in the meadow?" I say as I ask Lyriah as I show her the strange looking prehistoric horse as it seems different than what I would usually see as a horse due to hit's two fangs sticking out.

She shrugged, "it's ancient. Who knows?" She stepped into the orb before you and you could see her petting the horse now.

I go inside as well to see what the meadow was like as I carefully go to the horse as I pet it "your actually pretty nice" I say to the horse as I pet it with you as it fur felt nice on my skin still wondering what the horse represents

The horse was as short as your waist. It seemed very docile like it had never had any reason to fear a human. Lyriah smiled, "So, this is just one part of the animal tree of life apparently. Did you mean to focus in on this part?"

"not really, still it is nice to see what was in one of them, so I guess each part of the animal tree has a different animal correct?" I ask as it sounded obvious still I don't know how I could turn myself into an animal.

She nodded. "yeah, and if you want, you can make yourself like a horse probably. Just stand near him while using the crystal ball and it will take us and him out of here. then we can enter the fruit that represents you and leave him in there. We could do the same with any part of the animal tree. does that make sense?" she smiled.

"yes it does so let's get out of here and get the animals I want to mix together to become" I say as I've decided to become a mix of two animals which I've always read in books on my break but never saw in real life

SHe nodded and let you use the crystal ball. She seemed to be in a very good mood and curious what you were going to look like.

*I use the crystal ball as I take me and her out of the meadow now looking for a leaf for one of the animals* "Lyriah help me look for a llama on the animal tree" I said as I wanted to be half llama as I loved their shaggy fur

She looked closely until she found one. "This is a llama right?" It was a llama.

"yes it is, ready to meet a llama?" I say as I ask lyriah as I want her to see one up close "Okay here we go" I point the one with the llama on it as it starts to show us the orb with the animal on it again like with the prehistoric horse

The llama was in a field up on a mountain somewhere. Lyriah jumped in and was petting it again.

I go in as well as I petted it as it's fur felt nice and soft "Well this is the first animal I want to bring with us Lyriah" I say as I use the crystal ball to get us and the llama out here so we can get the other animal but before I look for the second animal I asked Lyriah something "Lyriah what would happen if I put the llama in the fruit before I got the second animal would I become a full llama or just half of one?"

"Half. You already have human in there" she said smiling. The llama seemed to be unbothered by the trip.

"well let's see what I look like as half a llama besides I want to see " I use the magnifying glass on the fruit as I go to see what's inside it before I add the llama to it most likely probably a human in there I thought

Looking at the fruit without a magnifying glass, you can see yourself unchanged. When you use the magnifying glass on the fruit it opens up to a white space with a nude version of yourself standing there.

*after seeing that I put the llama into where that version of me is as I see what happens*

The llama goes in and is standing there as well in the white space. when the bubble closes and the fruit is visible again, the fruit begins to morph, showing a human-llama hybrid. Suddenly you could feel yourself begin to change.

"I think I'm starting to change" I say to lyriah as she watches me

Your face begins to pucker out a bit and your nose tickles as it becomes more animal like and your nostrils flatten. Your lips flatten and thin out while your face begins to fluff up with fur. Your neck becomes a little longer and your hands become half-hoof, half hand. Hard finger-like appendages that can grab things but hoof like. Your body continues to cover in fur. A little tail wiggles in the back. Your dress didn't fit quite as well anymore.
Lyriah giggled. "oh deary"

"So look how do I look?" I say as I wanted to know how I looked to lyriah

She giggled again, then stopped and looked you up and down. "you actually looook..." she squinted. "pretty good. you seem like you would be a bit warm in the southern part of the americas, don't you think?" she laughed.

"Yeah I would wouldn't I any way want me to mix with another animal?"

She nodded, "Yeah maybe something with a long tail!" She clapped excitedly.
