Description
You enter a small room whose door was surrounded by mirrors. Inside, the door is shut-- as if you had shut the door the instant you came in. But as a simple rule, you were stuck inside the moment you stepped in.Now the floor is wet and there in the center is a creature unlike any you have seen before. She (for it is easy to see from the feeling it gives off that it is a she) beckons you to come forward, hands you an amulet, a tentacle-like wing-like pincher-like hand-like appendage placing it around your neck. The gloom and wetness of the room seem to clean up as soon as she does so and you hear a brilliant voice fill your head.
"I give you this now because I know what is to come. Tomorrow you will be spared among the human race. The world will be cleansed in a very efficient way and you must not be removed from it. Endure. Survive. Have joy."
And then you wake up. You can't remember how you got to that room whose doorway is framed in mirrors any better than you can remember if it's door was ever open after you entered. You simply wake in your bed, listening to the news.
Downstairs you hear your family frightened by the broadcast, and you can hear a sound coming from the sky. It sounds like birds chirping mixed with snapping, grunting, and the slip slip of fins all at once. It's a horrible, wonderful, disgusting, exciting sound. And much of it now is coming from the throats of your family members and from the windows of neighbors.
But you are in bed. What do you do?

You see a slug, ants, a beetle, a spider, a mouse, and a little fish (flying in the air).

I go over to the mouse and tap it so I don't harm it as I change again (sorry hit the submit button too soon)

The mouse, terrified jumped away after being bumped and scurried off. You suddenly began to shrink, your body becoming smaller and smaller until you were just a little mouse.

*I go down the grate hoping I can get into the mall from there luckily due to my small size now I fit through the grate as I look for a way into the mall from the sewers*

You notice that it's easy to move around. You can almost stick to the walls, but it only seems to work for a few feet at a time if you are going top speed. Soon you are in the grating in a bathroom. You can hear animals moving around inside the mall. There is apparently some kind of ape in the bathroom, and what sounds like a bird of some sort.

I touch the ape hoping to at least be big enough for who ever the voice is to see me as I feel my body shifting again and growing as well

You burst into shape, the last vestiges of the mouse form evaporating around you. You are enormous compared to your human form, and a bit stronger than you have ever imagined you'd be. The amulet points upward. It looks like you will have to go up an escalator or an elevator to get to the next level. Or climb.

I go and climb up to get to my destination that the amulet is pointing towards

You notice it leads into a clothing store where the door is locked open and there is a moose standing in the middle with a bra on it's antlers. The amulet seems to be pointing toward it, or near it.

I go towards the moose as I look around it hoping to find whoever sent me to come to the clothing store in the first place as I looked around for at least something besides the moose.

As you get closer to the moose, you notice that the amulet is pointing toward the dressing rooms. THe one it's pointing toward is closed and it looks locked.

I knock on the door hoping I can get the attention of some on in there as I thought that since it's locked someone may answer the door

No one answers. You notice there is a strange glow coming from behind the door.

I try to pull the door off so I can get inside the dressing room hoping that would work to get inside

With the strength of an ape, the door rips off and you see a bright light engulf you. Suddenly you are sucked in and the door re-hinges itself neatly, all the pieces coming back into place where they should be and the lock latching.
You notice next that the ape-form is dropping away from your skin and you are standing nude in a room that looks something like a giant cube. In the middle of it is a woman seated forward on a chair, her hair covering her face. No, not hair. a tentacle? She seems to have tentacles for hair. Her body is clothed in robes. Or are those wings? It's hard to tell. They could be fins too, for all you know because they are smooth and fleshy, featherless.

"are you the one who called me?" I ask her hoping she was the one that I was looking for all this time as I'm confused on who or even what she is.

She looked up and you could see that there was a face, but she was so far away that it was hard to see it. A voice emanated from her. "I am" Instantly you could recognize it. "I have brought you here to save the human race. What has happened to them is not fair. My people have gone too far."

"Okay can you tell me what's happening, why everyone I know is now an animal, why the amulet came to me in the first place and what I need to do to change them back"

"My people have arrived here after watching from the car corners of humanity's mind. We come from another dimension. We...they came to stop humanity from progressing any further because of sum of all possible futures leading only to destruction, to extinction for the majority of life forms on earth. We wanted to save life on your planet by not killing humanity, but simply, humanely returning humanity's numbers to the many animals that had been taken from earth. I thought there was a huge flaw with this plan as it was not merciful and didn't acknowledge the accomplishments of humanity, nor did it even acknowledge the ability of humans to listen to reason. I thought that if we taught humanity the right way, they would change. So, in secret, I am sparing you and giving you our power. You will have the ability to travel through time at will. You will also have the ability to transform your body as you see fit as long as the model organism is within eye sight. Your mission will be to convince my guardians, scattered throughout time, that you are worth keeping on earth. You will be immortal and will have ample time. You may need to fight some, but your goal should be to show them that humanity is not going to destroy all life on earth. "

"okay then so how do I gain your power?" I asked now confused as so far I've only been transforming with the use of the amulet.

"All you need to do is touch me. It won't be the same as the other transformations...just know that you will not be in this time period at first. You will need to find your bearings and begin coming up with a plan. The Watchers have begun moving through time as well, carefully so as to not disrupt the time-continuum. After this time period they will have become quite visible. Be careful even when you don't know where they are. They are each piloted remotely through the power that resides in amulets similar to yours, by people like me. Do you understand?"

"yes I do" *I touch you as I start to feel strange just from touching you*

Just touching the woman seemed to cause a shock and next thing you know, you were in the jungle somewhere. You could feel the wet leaves all around and the humidity was almost more than you could bear. You noticed that the amulet you had been wearing was now wiggling, somehow making it's way into your chest. You noticed the chain sink into your skin and melt away, leaving a faint impression. The amulet began to be softened, but the red glow didn't diminish. Soon you had a glowing red spot on your chest. You could feel your eyes felt very odd, almost numb and cold. You couldn't see it, but they were changing to be glowing white. You noticed that your hair was turning white as well until it was like a shock of hair, not thinning at all.

"woah what happened and where am I?" I look around to get at least some knowledge about my location hoping to see what's in the area surrounding me.

You notice that you can hear really well, and your vision is better than it's ever been in your life. You feel very calm and your thoughts seem very smooth as if your body chemistry has regulated any natural adhd you may have had. You seem to be in a heavily vegetated area devoid of any grass. You notice a bug go by you. It is a dragonfly about three feet long.

"this feels wonderful though seeing that dragonfly that long must mean that I'm in the past" I say as I try to see how far in the past I'm in hoping to maybe find a clue that humanity should survive.

You notice there is a strange lizard nearby. It looks like an alligator, but the more you look, the more you realize that it's actually a salamander the size of an alligator, maybe larger.
You hear the sound of footsteps and notice that you are being watched. You can feel it.

"who's there" I say as I go to see who was making the footsteps as I head towards the direction of the sound of the footsteps to see who it is

"oh hoho, you saw me eh?" Said a deeper, female voice from behind a tree. You notice a strange woman with white skin and bands of black stripes on her face and skin step out. She has a small spider abdomen behind her rear end as well as two sets of legs and two sets of arms, each eights packed next to each other such that it was almost easy to forget that she had two sets of each. She had white hair and white eyes like yours. You noticed the red glow in her chest.

"who are you?" I ask her wondering who she is and seeing that she also has various animal parts hoping she was friendly or at least someone who can tell me where or when I'm at

"I'm Fila. I was hoping we'd have a fresh one come through. It seems to happen so seldom" She said looking at you with her strange eyes. She blinked, looking you over. You could tell she was sizing you up and then she said, "who are you?"

"well I'm Diana" I replied as I'm still confused at where I'm at or how I got here

She smiled. "Oh... hon, you've traveled to the Devonian. This is before dinosaurs even existed. You can travel through time at will, did you know that? It takes practice, but honestly it's easier to just follow the time trails left behind from when others have gone. Since you just came here I could follow you to where you came from...but I'm guessing it was swarming with Watchers, so that wouldn't be such a good idea."

"yeah pretty much a lot of watchers there right now I'm looking for someone" I say as then I ask "anyway how did you get that appearance"

She smirked and laughed. "you are too cute. Don't you know? Well, I guess I should say that there are a lot of us like you...follow me" She grabbed your hand with one of her four and began walking quickly down a sandy path. You noticed there was a strange ripple in the air. "This is a time trail, or time ripple. it's the simplest way to travel. if you time-travel, you'll leave a big ripple where you go. it's best not to leave a bunch of them in case the watchers find them..."

"Thanks for telling me" I say to her as I still wondered why she looks different to my form

She stepped forward and there was a shift in the ground. The cracked, clay dirt suddenly rippled and began to rise and wrinkle, grass springing out of it. The trees tore up and down like saw blades in some kind of factory. Suddenly you noticed you were in a forest still, but the air was cool and not so humid at all. It felt much much better. "I'm not sure what time this is. It's hard to tell, honestly." She walked along in front of you, letting go of your hand. "Do you have any questions?"

"Yeah how come you have various animal parts on you" I ask her hoping to get an answer

"Oh, this is a spider. I saw it when I was in an old house in Argentina. It had been a self-cleaning, robot controlled house. Oh...you probably don't have those in your time, do you? Anyway, it was so old it didn't work anymore and this spider was hanging out and I thought it was so beautiful! So I decided to become like it." She smiled at you, her teeth perfectly aligned.

"Oh well maybe I should try becoming part animal then" I look around to see what was nearby me

You notice there are a few birds, a squirrel, a moth. You notice there is a bee buzzing around.

*I look at the squirrel and see if I can make myself 50 % squirrel*

You notice it's not hard at all. It takes only a few seconds to expand your spine out into a long fluffy tail and you can feel yourself getting shorter, your face becoming more like a snout, and your hands and feet becoming somewhat like paws. Your teeth feel especially large, as do your eyes.
"Oh you changed!" Said Fila, looking at you. "That was quick!"

"Yeah and it felt pretty easy as well" I say very confidently

She nodded. "See? you can't blame me for changing, can you?"
She frowned and looked at you and then smiled, "You look gorgeous. Now, come down to the camp" She walked you through the woods for a while until you noticed two large cliffsides on eitherside of the trail. It was as if an enormous rock had been split down the middle. A fire flickered in between, casting the shadows of humanoid shapes. You could hear laughter and the murmur of muted speech.

I followed her as we eventually reach the camp "so what is this camp for anyway" I asked her now confused at why she brought me here as it feels like me and her were becoming great friends fast as we see the other humanoids

She shrugged.
"guys, this is Diana" (did I get that right?) "She's new as of a few hours ago."
The group crowded around you and you noticed that although they were technically human-shaped for the most part, there were some strange combinations. There was a turtle-like woman who had snapping jaws but also skin as smooth as a shark's and fins as well. There was a person who was hard to tell if they were male or female who looked like an ant somewhat. There was a centaur woman who didn't seem to care to cover her breasts although her nipples were not visible. And so on. There were about twenty or so such characters.
A salamander-looking woman with no hair whatsoever and completely black eyes looked up at you. "So, how do you propose to show humanity's worth?" She looked completely serious and then cracked a smile. The others in the group started chuckling.

"well I'm not sure yet, after all I just got here" *I say blushing of course the salamander woman was very nice as she starts to tell me why everyone else is here. (yes you did)

After a moment of chuckling, the salamander woman stopped and looked at you with wide eyes, then glanced to the group. "we've all met the woman, been given the amulet, been called on the quest to save humanity. She tells each one that you are humanity's last hope and that you need to show the Watchers the value of humanity, why we need to not be forcibly turned into everything else that lives on earth...why we should be allowed to share it when we are so nasty to each other and especially to other forms of life..." She stepped back and forth. "of course, we're time travelers now, so who knows...maybe you were the last hope in your time line. I have no idea"
The others were silent. You noticed the centaur lady shift to being on two legs. It took her a few gelatinous steps and her body was now like a humanoid ape, a long furry tail trailing behind. She stepped forward. "Honestly, she's damned us. I'd rather be stuck as a fly and die of old age a few days later than this. I've been like this for years from my point of view. I only barely found others. In my timeline the Watchers came in 2010..."
"Oh? That's nothing!" Said the ant person, who sounded male, but had the hips of a woman and an ant body. "I've been here since 1945. WWII was just ending and I was working at the factory when the Watchers came. I spent a decade in egypt before I realized I could move through time at will. And that was after I discovered I could transform, but before I could figure out how to transform back into a human. I had to hide mostly and sometimes I was worshipped, but I left before I was sacrificed..."
