Description
You enter a small room whose door was surrounded by mirrors. Inside, the door is shut-- as if you had shut the door the instant you came in. But as a simple rule, you were stuck inside the moment you stepped in.Now the floor is wet and there in the center is a creature unlike any you have seen before. She (for it is easy to see from the feeling it gives off that it is a she) beckons you to come forward, hands you an amulet, a tentacle-like wing-like pincher-like hand-like appendage placing it around your neck. The gloom and wetness of the room seem to clean up as soon as she does so and you hear a brilliant voice fill your head.
"I give you this now because I know what is to come. Tomorrow you will be spared among the human race. The world will be cleansed in a very efficient way and you must not be removed from it. Endure. Survive. Have joy."
And then you wake up. You can't remember how you got to that room whose doorway is framed in mirrors any better than you can remember if it's door was ever open after you entered. You simply wake in your bed, listening to the news.
Downstairs you hear your family frightened by the broadcast, and you can hear a sound coming from the sky. It sounds like birds chirping mixed with snapping, grunting, and the slip slip of fins all at once. It's a horrible, wonderful, disgusting, exciting sound. And much of it now is coming from the throats of your family members and from the windows of neighbors.
But you are in bed. What do you do?

I decide to investigate the sound but think against the idea and go back to sleep.

You close your eyes and begin to drift off when you feel a slight tremor in your body and a warmth on your chest, making you very sleepy. (would you rather me change you randomly here at the beginning or wait until you touch something to turn into it? To randomize, pick two letters and I'll use them to pick which one is the first letter of an ecosystem and the second will be the first letter of the species in that ecosystem)

No one answered. Instead as you turned the corner, you came face to face with a sheep, which bleated at you. You then notice that the couch is covered in ants, which look like they were dropped there...in a pile of someone's clothes and shoes, and a spilled drink. Strangely the sound comes again and you feel something warm on your chest. You feel like your skin is cramping and your muscles are itching.

Your phone seemed to get signal, and you find the number for animal control. Calling them, the phone rang until the answering machine picked up. you notice that there are fish in the air, swimming like they would in teh ocean, but blown around in the wind.

The only response was another sound out of the sky (wait, did we decide are we doing random or random? if random, just tell me two letters from the alphabet and I'll flip a coin, etc etc)
that caused your skin to cramp and your bones to itch. You notice that your chest is warm, something vibrating there. Your body begins to pulse in all your extremeties.

You feel the craziness subside and you notice that the amulet from your dream is around your neck, warmly glowing. Suddenly you can see the person from your dream again, she speaks wetly, like an aquatic creature might. "please come to the mall as soon as possible. it's imperative that you come for the human race to survive and for earth to be restored. But don't come as a human or the sentinels will find you and take the amulet...and then all our hope is lost. Sneak past them and find me. the amulet will guide you." she paused to see if you listened.

"you need to but touch one of your cursed humans and their taint will spread to you. the amulet will regulate the curse and allow you to stay human in your soul. If you need to change, return to the human form by thinking about a time in the past when you were human and relaxing carefully. it will take practice, but it is an easy transformation. then you can change forms by touch" You notice that the vision fades and shew was never there, but it feels like she is still listening. You aren't sure which neighbor it is, but on the fence beside you a tree-frog is perched, looking at you. Your hand seems to fill with static, like a fluffy ball against your palm.

The frog seemed to stay still, until there was a shock between you and frog. Like a buzz, less of a snap. The frog leapt away. The tip of your finger was green, and your nose was already flattened before you were aware, clumps of hair falling out.

You feel your legs lengthen, your neck shorten and your mouth widen in the same motion. Almost like how so many muscles are used to squat or lunge. THe last bit of hair is stuck in your clothes, and you can feel your eyes growing as your face flattens around them, making them bulge out. You begin shrinking quickly, your skin tightening, your muscles loosening. It's freeing in a way. Before long you are on the pavement by the fence, your shape completely changed to a frog's.

You find that you can express yourself through the amulet somehow. You are able to tune in on your guide, or on animals around you, or even on the signal/location of the guide using the amulet.

As you hop along, you notice that there are animals everywhere. Cars are smashed, windows broken, and alarms are jangling to the point that it would get on your nerves normally. But as a frog you have more patience with it. It reminds you of singing for a mate. And then you remember that that never happened. As you hop you notice that you are about a mile or so from the mall.

As you hop along, you notice that there are plenty of animals whose forms you can take. The amulet hums. "perhaps, hopping isn't the best mode of arriving. a bird perhaps? or really anything. maybe a fish..." you notice the fish are able to swim through the air like it was a city in atlantis. The occasional gust was requiring them to adapt, however.
"I already taught you how to change into an animal...remember touch with your palm. To return to a human, you have only to think of a time when you were human and relax, breath. It can't be done in an emergency...so take care. But also beware that the longer you are human, the more likely it is that the sentries will spot you" she says.

You flowed like smoke into a human form, then solidified into a human form. Returning seemed easier. The air, however, felt electric.

As you approached, you notice that it was a wolf, looking totally confused, with a torn soccer jersey at it's feet. a pair of shorts were still wrapped around it's back legs. it looked at you as if it had no idea how to do being a wolf.

As you touch the wolf, you notice that yoru hand matches the fur, poofing into a swirl of hair and ultimately, fur. Your hand begins to shift, the muscles tightening and the nails lengthening, shrinking and curling into claws. Your nose seems to have caught the fur as well, swelling at the tip into a black point, your lips turning black, shrinking. You notice your tongue is lengthening rapidly and your hips pop so that you hit all fours soon. Your clothing also rips liike the wolf's in front of you and you tremble just a little as your body finishes shifting to a wolf. You can smell the world in a way that you've never experienced.

(for now, no limitations, there is a forced transformation taking place and your amulet gives you some pushback, but not a ton. So choose carefully!)
