And while he HAS used a little magic, remember that it took several rounds of fighting a demon and being injured to get him in such bad shape he could barely walk. I wonder...it seems to begin melting as soon as Sans decides not to sacrifice himself to it. Might it be a case of its form being based on their psyches in some way? I get the impression that it lost its power when he changed his mind. It's already been shown to be able to interact with people's inner thoughts, get inside their heads. Perhaps its other abilities, including manifesting in the real world, revolve around that concept as well. Time will tell. If I'm right, they should be home free because it's just going to melt away into nothing. But if it manages to keep attacking, then I'm probably wrong.

huh. well, if theyβre melting, then they likely have DT already(also given that they exist outside of the timeline)... and theyβre also MELTING because of it, like the amalgamates. and the soul(s) that they used to possess flowey looked like monster souls...
so i think itβs safe to say that the forgotten is at least a bunch of monsters, ridden with more DT than they could handle in life, far more than the amalgamates were given, and just... left there? maybe? itβs also obvious that theyβve been around since before the war, and they were forgotten in a possibly similar manner to how gaster was... well, all of that could build up, i think
