Nope, I don't think so. I think the game mentions something about during the war the monsters never killed any humans, but the humans slaughtered many monsters. It wasn't even a fair fight.

I have a headcanon that the name "Monsters" was given to them by the humans, seeing them as such. They wanted someone to put all their blame on. (*cough*CHARA*cough*) The word "monster" is an insult. They feared them. But that's humanity. They fear what they don't understand. And what they fear they DESTROY. We have seen this countless times over the course of history. All that becomes of it is an endless cycle of hate. They feel so afraid they act as though they're some kind of demons. Calling them "monsters" is a way of them saying, "You're different from us", "You shouldn't exist", "You're evil."
