Description
(Marvel's What If...? VS Elsword)
-Both are alternate versions of characters from what is considered the "main" timeline (Sacred Timeline!Strange and Doombringer!Add)
-Both are largely motivated by the loss of someone close to them (Strange's girlfriend Christine and Add's mother Grace) which kickstarted their journey into the mystical and unknown
-Unlike their main counterparts, who mostly moved on from this loss, these two obsessed over their deaths, desperately trying to bring them back from the dead
-Both tried to use time travel to do this using (Strange using the Time Stone implemented into the Eye of Agamoto and Add using a moonstone to allow the Dynamos to travel through time)
-However, when they attempted this, they found that they could not alter the past as they hoped (Because Christine's death was an "Absolute Point in Time", no matter how hard Strange tried, he could never undo her death which would lead to him becoming Sorcerer Supreme. Because of Elsword's near-infinite and ever-expanding number of timelines, Add would always end up in another universe no matter how many times he tried to go back and prevent his original parents' deaths)
-This caused them to go into delusion-fueled rampages and go down much darker paths than their main timeline counterparts (Strange believed he could still change Christine's death with time travel, so he spent countless years killing and absorbing magical creatures to get the power needed to change an Absolute Point in Time. Add went insane upon the realization that he could never be with his mother again, and used his new time-space powers to destroy countless numbers of timelines where it never happened in the first place, and almost destroy time and space entirely)
-Both represent the "Magic VS Science" conflict, with Strange being a master sorcerer, and Add's time powers stemming from his Dynamo technology
-Both would actually come into conflict with versions of themselves from alternate timelines (Strange Supreme fought his "good" counterpart caused by a timeline split, and versions of the Time Tracer and Diabolic Esper fought each other in the Time Trouble light novels)
-In the end, both simultaneously got the ending they wanted and the ending that was always destined for them and are now left to drift across time and space forever (After absorbing his "good" self from an alternate timeline, Strange manages to change the Absolute Point of Christine's death, which unintentionally causes his universe to be destroyed. He attempts to stop it, only to be unsuccessful, and being forced to watch Christine die in his arms as he's left drifting in space. After Add's aimless, mindless travel across time and space, his body reaches its limit, and he finds one way he can possibly be with his mother again. He merges his consciousness with all of time and space across the multiverse, stuck in endless contradictions of space-time, left only with the desire to feel his mother's warm embrace one more time)
