So after X2's Sigmarine, X3's Sigma uses another silly gimmick. They had "Neo Sigma" in X2, why didn't he get a special name?

gawd I hate this design. just awful. His head is way smaller than X1 or 2, and with the angle, it almost looks like a bird's beak to me. Interesting to me that they tried putting his facial marks on this sprite when they were absent from X1 & 2. Also interesting that in the artwork they changed the design of them so that they're red and more butterfly-shaped, going out over the cheeks instead of straight down. They used the darker red here though, so that really doesn't come through well. In any event, it was nice to see Flame Stag's fire again.

I highly suspect that this weird-ass sprite was mainly a result of Capcom outsourcing a bunch of X3's development to Minakuchi Engineering. They did a fine job overall. Not my favorite installment, but a decent one.

Also, didja know that if you pause the game, his ∑ insignia will change to a Doppler insignia when you exit the menu? (Though I bet the Saturn version fixed that, my PC CD won't work anymore though)
