Creature creation for illustration class!

For this, I took the chance to throw myself out of my comfort zone and did something that have nothing humanoid - plus, some of my characters need a non-human form, so I killed two birds with one stone and made the true form of one of my characters (Game time! If you have time to kill, you can try and search for it. It's in my gallery, and has the same horns, albeit smaller. Go!). It's not complete yet of course: I coloured the fire to see how it would turn out, then added some glow just because... the scales, as you can see, aren't shaded in the slightest. Now, I'm going to finish this - only, I'm not sure if it will remain like it is now, it doesn't look enough "demonic" to me... maybe I'll add some extra limbs, and give it a more bipedal posture...

BUT I wanted to write about the creature itself. I had already in mind that it has to be some dragon-ish thing, but more lizard-ish - and that, depending on the caracter it would have been linked, it had to have two pair of horns, straight and curved, had to be based on fire, and had to have a tail with the tip shaped in a precise way (that ended up being covered by fire, whatever). So, I started looking photos of lizards in search for inspiration - and I stumbled upon that adorable thing that is the sungazer aka giant girled lizard (I'd like to have 20 of those, thankyouverymuch) - that was perfect for what I had in mind. The molten lava texture wasn't planned, but it looks pretty good, doesn't it?
