Description
Journalist: I heard you work in the prison kitchen too.Marin: Yes, I wake up at 5 am daily to prepare meals for all three meals on Tuesday and Friday. Mostly simple dishes due to the small kitchen space which also gets very hot.
Journalist: How is the food quality?
Marin: Prison food can be bland but I try to add more love. Inmates can smell it from afar and often ask me for recipes! Everyone seems to really enjoy it.
Journalist: It's tough work. How do you find it?
Marin: Though tiring, I'm glad to be useful. Here, each meal carries meaning. I hope bringing others a little joy gives me the strength to continue persevering too.
Journalist: Have you faced any difficulties working in the kitchen?
Marin: The main difficulty is the environment is really bad - small, hot, and cramped. Facilities are also not fully equipped so dishes can get repetitive at times. It's also tiring waking up early daily.
Journalist: How do you cope with these challenges?
Marin: It was an adjustment at first. But I try to keep the kitchen a happy place by interacting cheerfully with others. Though basic, I maximize efficiency and maintain an optimistic mindset which makes work more enjoyable.
Journalist: You adapt very well and stay positive despite obstacles.
Marin: After all this is just my current situation, not permanent. I believe as long as I persevere, the truth will surface. Hope is the greatest motivation.
Journalist: Your story is truly inspiring. I wish you a speedy exoneration!
