Description
I took this eye out from a piece of a portrait [link] I am working on and then did some more modifications to it. I highly recommend any portrait artists to go into extreme detail at least once, it might drive you a bit crazy but it's worth it for what you learn.I named this picture after a song by

Have a listen it's great!
This is 100% digital painting, using various skin texture brushes etc. The eyeball and the lashes are done just using the 'basic' photoshop brushes. I used the pen tool for the glasses frame.

Absolutely love the detail that you put into this. Is this your own technique for the tear or did you perhaps use a tutorial? I would love to learn how to do this.

I have watched many tutorials over the years but this was done by observation. It's done mainly by varying the hardness of the brush and opacity and changing from black to white. I should have mentioned I used a colour filter at the end to make the picture blue. Hope that helps, I don't have a fixed way of doing things I am constantly changing size of brush and opactiy and shade.

Well you've done an amazing job honestly. I have been wanting to do a close up shot at some point so that I could work on an eye like this but I really do like it. The technique I can understand by what you said. I definitely like your style however.
