Before Zero was a lazy jokester, he was a child raised by a single mother. He loved his mom, and she loved him back, but sadly, on their way back home from a vacation, they crashed into another car and both exploded. Zero was barely able to survive with most of his body parts in tack, but his mother didn't make it. To keep him alive, he was turned into a hedgehog but forgot almost all his memories...
