I wanna call her Venessa. The name fits her really well!I loved working on her and really making up the outfit and details as well. I think the color overall works super well together.

AFAIK, the SJWs didn't the artist's depiction of Zarya so they harrassed him into changing it to his own character or something like that.

it's more like this
the Evil SJWs saw this artist drawing a buff woman extremely thin. it upset a few people because there's hardly any representation, and to make her into just another objectified silhouette was bullshit. this artist is a bit popular for taking female characters and making them skinnier and bustier - take asuka from NGE, she's way underage and this artist gave her tits that would break her back.
look at it this way: if someone took a black character and drew them white, would you not see anything wrong with that? it's not artist's freedom, it's ingrained racism. you're drawing them white because you don't like them to be black. it's the same way here. do you see why people would be rightfully upset?

wow, involving race was a dick move
This isn't about race though, it's about the form of the body. And if the artist wants to do it, he can. It's the same as: you age ( people can draw others howd theyd look older or younger) aka. Not the same as colour of complexion.
People can gain or lose wait - NOT the same as colour of complexion
Complexion isnt something you can simply change
Those other attributes are changeable and thus the artist shouldn't be bashed for it. Bashing the artist for it is pure ignorance and thus I have no respect for SJWs.
Again, it is NOT the same as changing a characters skin colour. Which was a very ridiculous and stupid example on your end.

"Complexion isnt something you can simply change"
"which was a very ridiculous and stupid example"
"besides, I don't see anything wrong trying to portray how a character would look as a different ethnicity."
holy shit first of all do you hear yourself
switching a characters ethnicity is wrong. if a character is of an under represented group and you change it to fit the majority ideal, it's fucked up. why does the artist dislike bigger women? why do you dislike bigger women? ask yourself what other reason someone would change a character in such a drastic method other than aesthetic needs. obviously the original didn't fit your ideal and thus you (general you, not you literal) changed it to fit your standards. there are plenty of thin, busty characters out there. why did they have to take one that was clearly hugely important to bigger women and change her? what's wrong with the character as she is?
there's a difference between style and outright changing a character because you don't like what she stands for.
of course, there's always going to be extremists, and though i didn't see anyone outright bashing the artist with threats or insults, i don't doubt that they could've happened, either. the entire reason people lashed out is because they were hurt. bigger women saw a character they could point to and finally have as their own, and this artist decides they don't like her drawn that way. insults and threats aren't needed for that and to base your entire opinion on the few who just like to stir up trouble is pretty fucked up, and you're making the same decision they are, being an extremist and labeling them all Evil SJWs because... they want representation? yikes

changing skin colour in art completely fine, I see a ridiculous amount of drawings of white characters turned black, so why not the other way? if there is ill intention then there is nothing wrong if all races are equal, then it shouldn't be wrong to depict a character as any race, and honestly these people that complained about this piece are the biggest hypocrites, they literally are the ones that draw love live characters (and many other characters) as fat and of different races, which is completely fine, but if they do that then they should be perfectly fine with artists depicting fat/bulky characters as skinny, double standards

savagesparrow In reply to nofangss [2015-04-22 17:20:42 +0000 UTC]
No one complains when artists do genderbends of characters--like, Female Doctor Who/Male Rose or Female Taric/Ezreal from League of Legends. Nor do people complain when artists who do have curvier styles draw skinny, hour glass-looking characters more curvy. Everyone has different styles and you should be free to express yourself without fear of getting harassed.
tl;dr There is a difference between not liking something, and saying the artist is misogynistic/sexist/fatphobic/etc because he happens to have a particular style. The latter is bullying and leads to self-censorship, which no one wants.

actually some do but thats a whole different thread
of course, if the artist was harassed and bullied, that's another story! the fact of the matter is, i didn't see anyone threatening/insulting/bullying the artist, just hurt people with legitimate complaints.

Let me break it down for you.
-> I don't see how (in reality) changeable attributes compare to your ethnicity. Our ethnicity is something forced on us.
-> Using THAT as an example was therfore stupid in my eyes and nonsensical.
->However, I don't see anything wrong with people trying to portray a character (maybe even their own) as a different ethnicity. It is DEFINITELY not racist- I don't see any discrimination being done. It's just rediculous with people automativally screaming "racist" at everything they see.

> great, you still said even though it's not the same and How Dare You Bring it Up, that you see no issue with it. that was pointless
> it was equally stupid that you still decided ~racebending~ is okay, even if you don't think it should've been brought up
> "it is DEFINITELY not racist" you're white, aren't you

happyMOFO In reply to nofangss [2015-04-21 04:25:41 +0000 UTC]
you're making it wrong.
As far as I know, the artist never said they disliked bigger women.
People shouldn't go around forcing their own ideals on others. The artist can do what he wants. There are many other artists who represent certain things to your own standard and if you're "hurt" over Zeronis' representation then go look for something that suits your special self. I've seen plenty of artists and art in particular that represent bigger women. BESIDES, ZERONIS IS KNOWN FOR THIS AND NOW you decide to get "hurt"? Oh please, this isn't about you, they artist can draw freely what they want. Not everyone is going to like it anyway.
and yes, I know exactly what I said. I don't need you to point it out for me since it's right there.

look, if anyone was FORCING him, i retract my statement! i saw no such actions or insults, personally, so i can't speak there.
"go find something that suits your special self" thats the fucking PROBLEM: this character suits people, and the art of her is rendering her into a stereotype many women try to escape. special self? really? it's that bad to want representation to you? you dislike bigger women that much that anyone who identifies with charaters like this are 'special'. nice.
i'd never seen zeroni's art til now but i can give you a nice list of all the problems ive got with his art if you would prefer.
nor is this about you, or the artist, it's about what the character represents. get over yourself. if you want skinny girls, they exist literally everywhere else.
great! glad you can read! just pointing out your fallacy

I'M SPEAKING OF HIS STYLE. WHAT HE DOES. FIND SOMEONE WHO WILL SUIT YOUR NEEDS!
don't try to force your standards onto him.
I'm genuinely disappointed.
Art should be done for oneself-not for whatever others like.
Again, if you dislike his style- go away and look for another artist. No one is forcing you to stay on his page if you dislike it that much.
You should stop putting words into other's mouth. He never stated he hates bigger women, or people in general. I never stated that.
That's EXACTLY the problem with SJWs. They tend to ALWAYS put words into other's mouths.
Did I say I wanted skinny girls? Oh, was that a NO? Exactly. I didn't. I like the artist & his style.
The chance that the artist will change his style because someone trivial says they don't like it is pretty low.
There are many that do.

Being a douchebag is pretty much a prereq for being an sjw, If one is not a totalitarian bully who is using their identity politics philosphy as a way to harass and attack people then they are not an sjw by the definition of the word,
tl;dr You basically said, "Maybe if there were not so many assholes that act like assholes people would have a better picture of them".
