I think you got the shot as you wanted it here, the shallow d-o-f looks just right. Good flow of lines and great quality sharpness.

Something about this that's all very soothing for me. Not sure what it is exactly .. maybe that it appears to have no end, maybe like the feeling one gets when they look out at the sky and the stars and such and wonders when it all finshes itself off. Hmm .. anyway, I also like the way that it plays tricks on my eyes. I can't seem to comprehend whether it's a very macro-ish shot of sand up-close that has a dune-y feature .. or if it's taken from far, far away (like on a plane) of a very large area.
Anyway -- all that makes me enjoy this one.
As usual, awesome shot.

I love the shapes and shadows made by the ripples, never would've guessed that was in Galveston! Looks like something from the Sahara

Black and white really brings out the detail and patterns; if it were left as the original (yellow), I think it might be overbearing and really hard to appreciate the beauty.
Great job.

I love the way that sand like this is always moving. A person can put his camera in the same place every day for the rest of his life and never take a picture of the same grains of sand.
I think this shot shows that much better than the usual sand dune shot, where the photographer would look for a dune with a nice sand pattern. Great focus too.

interesting...i don't like the fact that it's blurred out close up and far out but hey that's me.

Dude this is a really cool shot, the textures and tones are really exentuated by the use of B&W and the isolated dof.
Great composition and focus.
Good to see soemthing new from you Hows that lovely D70 going? I just ordered one yesterday at last!
Take care man
