the lab has seen better days for sure. Goemon trudged himself right in, nearly missing some puddle some mysterious substance. Saizo lit a lantern and followed in, nearly stepping in it himself. "you could have warned me." he mutters, joining by Goemon's side. the shorter male looking around for any sort of clue for what the mystery man had mentioned. the constant tremors were unsettling. they both knew earthquakes, no, this was something different. almost undulating beneath the ground. no normal earthquake felt like this. Saizo didn't want to stick around. their counter was ticking like crazy.

"any longer could kill us. hurry up." Saizo urged.
"can't find what we don't know. the guy wasn't specific."
"I told you this was a bad idea."

Saizo grabbed Goemon's wrist and dragged him back outside.
"look. if this was his lab, he was messing with forces that shouldn't be touched. we need to leave. there's something seriously unnatural here."
Goemon didn't want to admit it, but Saizo was right. this whole thing felt.. off. the intense blurring between places, the shaking ground, everything felt ominous. more life threatening than most of what they had encountered before.
"alright. money's no use to us if we're dead." he finally agreed
"not like you could keep it anyways." Saizo rolls his eyes.
"I win sometimes!"
"now's not the time to bicker. lets get out of here."

just as they were turning to leave, someone managed to come in. they thought this place was abandoned. yet a voice sounded from the entry.
"what are you doing here"
