Description My father left my mother when I was still very young, although, he keeps in touch. In his own way.

Sure, I haven't seen him since I graduated highschool, and before that, not since my sister graduated. But it isn't a big deal, no, not in the slightest.
And some ask me 'well, do you miss him?'

.

When I say 'Let's start a band.' That's just me saying 'I don't want to live real life, let's play pretend forever instead.' and you are absolutely, 100% for it. You give us a band name, and I say 'Let's go to Europe,' Which is me saying 'I need to get away from here and never come back' you are all for it, because you would follow me anywhere, or something like that. But in reality, I know that you and I can never go to Europe together. Too many fights, no, no no no no.
You'll wake up one day, and I'll be far, far away, in some kind of land full of ruins and where great people have been.
I'll leave you here, and although you may forget me, you may never forgive me, you will come to realize, that this is not me.

I am just like my father.

It's just like me, to run away from something wonderful. Just like him. And when I look you in the eyes the day before I catch that plane, I hope you don't see me.
I hope you see him, so you don't remember it as me leaving you and never returning.

I think this through very carefully in my head, and I realize you're talking, so I tune in.
'...and he said he wouldn't take the job unless he could take me with him, but it's his dream job..y'know?'

And I look you in the eye, because I am just like my father.
