Illustrator CS and retouched and recoloured in Photoshop CS.--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---
Inspired for the most part by listening heavily to 'delicate sound of thunder', the live album by Pink Floyd, and obviously titled after the song of the same name.
I was messing around in Illustrator when I came up with this neat little bird-like shape. I then just applied it as a scatter brush and sprayed onto the page and got this cool kind of sweeping, diving flock of bird-shapes. I just developed from there.
It was enjoyable to just be doing a no stress piece for a change. Mainly as a break-out from my cacky day job.

Web design must get tedious especially with most people who want a site having absolutely bugger all idea about what sort of design they either want or need and then becoming sudden experts when you come up with a concept.

I am totally loving this soft touch from you...use to seeing more of a hard image ...which I love...but this is just simply pretty in pink..i like it alot..from the soft colour to the moving sensation I get looking at this.

Excellent use of curves to create a smooth, likeable piece... the eye tends to skate around it, following path after path. The bird shapes add a definite flow, but also depth as they're quite abstract - you often have to look closely before you can work out which way it's facing.
The gradient up is reminiscent of clouds in an abstract way, particularly with the long sweeping lines in the background. They're almost like representations of the air currents, the birds sweeping into them to be carried off to lands new...
The negative space up top really adds to the calm feel of the piece, and gives the picture more movement as you're forced to follow it down.

Lovely subtle colors. The "birds" (bats? LOL) have an Anime feel to their shape. I really like the overall mood to this piece...perhaps the freedom of flight mirrors your feeling of freedom from stress? Great job!!--AG
