This looks like one of your sketches done in real life (and for "real life" I mean "traditional way" but yeah why not)
If I use Paint Tool Sai, I do it just for the smooth lines. I just don't end up getting along with it's layer organizer window... x(

Sai is taking me some time to get used to, but I heard it's smoother for inking than Photoshop. In the sense that the lines form more naturally and respond in a more organic way than Pshop does. It also helps compensate for shakey hands, which is what I have when I ink 
I like it for smooth lines if I want a really clean look, but I wanted to try out a more texturey style for this, since I was just screwing around. The shading is the "marker" option, but truth be told I prefer coloring in Pshop.
