Hoo boy! Almost didn't post tonight, I was exhausted from my day. But I didn't wanna leave tonight feeling empty so I pushed through and I got super into it and here it is! It's a rather simple piece for my sake
I wanted to capture that confused almost frustrated sadness he tries to understand at the end. Mind you, Flowey doesn't feel anything! So to see him look this way was just... heartbreaking.
Just Imagine not feeling love or sadness... but trying to. Terrifying.

of course i'm horrendously biased because flowey is my favourite character, but i really can't understand (haa) just how easily and even happily like 90% of the fandom killed him off in the neutral run- or even worse, cheered at his death in the genocide run :'D
he's done horrible, horrible things, of course- but he's done so out of his own frustrated confusion and tampering with the timeline in any attempt to feel ANYTHING for ANYONE, something he even flat-out tells the player that was all he ever wanted, but he just can't,, and this, along with the disappearance of his best friend, who he also admits he feels like he failed because he showed mercy to humanity and in return was slaughtered for his kindness- lead him to actually killing himself- which, mind you, was how he discovered his ability to mess with the timeline,, idk that just breaks my heart so ba d

It really is sad. A monster that got himself killed in order to respect his dead sibling's wishes, only to have his essence put into a object that isn't physically able to feel love, kindness, sadness. Who knows how long he was like this before he gave up and went to pursue "kill or be killed". But then a human comes
and shows so much mercy and kindness he cannot understand. Why would anyone care for this being? He isn't who he once was, he can't love back, but this young child cared enough to spare him where if it were the other way around, he would kill the human in an instant.
Believe it or not, Flowey is innocent.
