東方霊寝像 - Spells of liberate spiritsOnce again, after the events in Reimaden, there's still sources in Gensokyo that aims to cause trubble. This time, waves of spiritual energy are traveling through the ground, causing commotion among the spirits laid to rest inside their graves. The restless spirits are gathering around the Hakurei Shrine, but are also following the trail of spiritual energy. The shrine maiden Hakurei Reimu follows the spirits to see where the spiritual energy is emerging from, and meets up with her rival, Marisa Kirisame along the way.

Yey! Another touhou "fangame"!(tough still not a game
), this "game" is going to be in a PC98 style, because I really love those sorts of games X3, they always hold so much nostalgia, even if I've never played them before ^^'. Yeah, I really love the PC98 area, it deserves more credit 
, I may actually prefer it over the modern games...But anyways, this is a new project I'll be working on from now on, but I will still continue with the Brilliant New World Story as well.
I'm really pleased with this picture! It took forever to make, especially the shrine and the shadowing, but it was definitely worth it! It gives of the exact feeling I want it too give, and I think I've done a really good job with making it look PC98ish

RemiSaku's the main one for me, and I think Marisa would be very loyal to whoever she chooses (Reimu, in my opinion)...

Hehe ^^. I've never really played Sakuya since her special "thing" is that spirits doesn't move... I get scared that I'll run into them o.O.(But I hate fighting her XD, at first, I always needed to use a continue when I faced her, and she still kills me from time to time ^^')
Hmm, I probably like Orin and Okuu the most, and I think Marisa would fit best with Alice, in my opinion ^^'

Ah. Many people think Marisa and Alice are the best due to fanon or Imperishable Night (fanon Alice is the opposite of canon Alice). Despite all that, I still think Marisa fits best with Reimu, but that's just me...

The reason I think that is actually mainly because of PCB XD, but also since Pachoully(can't spell...) even in fandom seems very "intrested" to begin with. Reimu I feel is more like a rival

Just call her Patchy if you can't spell her name. She seems like she's more irritated at Marisa than, "Oh! If only she'd ASK to hang out with me!" Alice just isn't as much of a tsundere as in fanon. Then again, Flan's not as crazy as in fanon...
Reimu can be a rival and a love interest. Whether or not you believe Marisa is jealous of her, Reimu is the standard of strength Marisa tries to match. They pretty much became best friends after Mima siced Marisa on Reimu...

Yeah, that's why I don't really thing Patchy would fit, she never portrays to be "interested" enough, or what to call it XD. And I personally like Alice more in the games where she's sometimes more of a hothead than marisa XD(Thinking of IN).

As much as I prefer Marisa being psychotically devoted to Reimu and Reimu alone, especially after hearing that everyone else has a tiny crush on her (except Reimu: she has a HUGE crush on her), and people think she's a harem master; nothing could stop them if they wanted a threesome. It would solve their problem of who gets Marisa, and neither of them gets left out...And with Reimu's natural attraction to blondes (could have to do a little with Yukari raising her as her own. Just a little. Not Oedipus complex level), she may have looked at Alice a little...

Short version: In my version combined with your version, Reimu was raised by Yukari, which probably contributed a bit to her being attracted to blondes (some of Reimu's most popular ships are with blondes, with Sanae and Remi being the exceptions). Fanon depicts Marisa as a sex goddess, hence why everyone has a small crush on her (Reimu has a BIG one). Marisa doesn't like that reputation, so she basically gets to be a yandere for Reimu, who is the same. With your interpretation, Reimu and Alice would decide to have a threesome, but only if Marisa liked the idea...

The actual canon is a different story. Flan's not a walking weapon that leaves destruction in her wake. Koishi's an empty shell with her mind sealed away, acting on what her subconscious remembers she'd do. What if Koishi just wants her mind back?...

Koishi had just sneaked down into the basement of a big building. Her ability allowed her to get in freely without anyone seeing her, but she couldn't help but notice that something was missing, untill someone spoke to her. "Me? You can see me?" Koishi stares chocked at Flandre, to startled to move, or maybe she just didn't want to leave yet. "My name is Koishi, Komeji Koishi" she turned around to look straight in the eyes of the little vampire girl. "Who are you?"

"Flandre..." she didn't recognize the name, she had never heard anyone talk about her, never mentioning her, but she still felt like she had known her all her life. Something about her her eyes felt so familiar, like she was looking into a mirror. "Do you live here?" she said in a curious voice, but still low enough that no one else would hear her.

"Yes. This is my home. And...I think I may have seen you staring at me here before, Koishi. You look very familiar to me." Flandre may not have recalled talking to Koishi before, but Flandre still felt like she was the best friend she always wanted, like they had talked all the time. It didn't help that Flandre found Koishi absolutely beautiful in every way. As Flandre was gushing to herself about Koishi's perfection, she began to remember a distant time? They were lovers! But...Was it a time Flandre had forgotten, or were they just fated to meet like this for every life?...

Koishi paused for a moment. She felt herself tense as an unfamiliar "feeling" came to her, yes, a feeling. It had been so long since Koishi had felt anything at all, so long that she couldn't even make out what this feeling meant. It felt kind of uncomfortable, but still warm and protecting. The way Flandre spoke, it had a kind of empty feeling to it, yet it meant so much.
Her eyes... her words... they are all so familiar, she's just like me... she's lonely.
"I don't remember seeing you," she finally responded, but as she said it, she felt another rush of emotion flooding over her. Shame of being so blunt. "I mean... I don't think I've been here before!" she paused. "But you also seem familiar..."

(lifts up Koishi's chin) "Please don't erase my memories when you leave, Koishi. I don't want to forget you." (begins to cry) "I've just met you, but I feel like I've loved you my entire life!" Flandre had heard from Patchouli Knowledge about Koishi's story before. A satori who sealed away her third eye because of the hatred her sister received. She gained power over the subconscious, but she sealed her own mind away in the process. Flandre knows that she's falling in love with the girl in front of her (she's basing her knowledge of love on how Remi described her feelings for the maid), and Koishi almost seemed to feel the same, but she didn't remember. Flandre swears she's seen Koishi before, but she doesn't seem to remember.
"Koishi? How would you...like it if your third eye was opened again? Maybe you'll remember me if it is!"

"My eye?" Koishi stared in horror at the little vampire, at what she had suggested. To open her eye, was to open her heart, where all pain were. Everything she and her sister had been through, it would all be released. She was not yet prepared for that, but this girl, she felt that everything would be alright with her here. She said she knew her, and maybe she was right. Maybe Koishi had just sealed away that part of her memory along with the rest of her heart. After all, she felt so familiar, and she could never erase her memories.
What is this feeling?
Koishi began to shake, if she opened up her heart, would Flandre's presence here make the pain ease? She nodded slowly, still not sure wether to trust someone she just meat. But looking straight into her eyes, she knew everything would be all right.
But maybe she's more than a stranger
"I'm scared..."

"I've never actually wanted to use my power to destroy before, Koishi." (bed vibrates, then stops) "But if people hate you like you fear, then I'm going to become VERY tempted to become the very thing people are afraid I am!" (hugs Koishi) "I'll protect you no matter what! You don't have to be scared. I may not remember it all...But I do know one thing for sure." (kisses Koishi's cheek shyly) "I remember...That I love you."

Suddenly, Koishi felt something inside of her brake. A brief pain, but the she felt so light, she felt like had been revived. All at once, she felt happy, so happy that she would burst into a thousand shining stars. Then she felt so sad, so discouraged that she probably couldn't bother standing up, but quickly, she felt anger. It felt like she was burning, she was hotter than the debts of hell, and frustrated that she couldn't figure out what she was angry about. All her memories came rushing back, memories of her sister her herself playing at the palace of earth spirits, memories of all the animals there, gathering happily around her and her sister. Memories of herself watching as the humans started throwing rocks at her sister, memories of Satori fighting pointless battles with youkai, being thrown out of the over-world, and hid underground. And lastly, memories of the shadows of a little girl standing in front of her, running up to her and grabbing her hand. She had a small dress, wings made out of diamonds, and the cutest smile. The flashbacks ended, and Flandre breathing at her back, her arms holding a tight grip around her. "Flandre, I-I..." it was all to much for her to bear. Sadness flooded over her once more, and she could not hold back the tears that started falling down her cheek. She hugged Flandre back, and struggeled to keep her voice steady. "Thank you..." she took another look at the vampire girl, and more memories started appearing. This time, as she was looking at the shadows of Flandre, another figure appeared, a short adult with bat wings and short, purple hair appeared and grabbed Flandres wrist, pulling her towards the mansion. As they slipped into the shadown, the adult gave Koishi a final disgusted glare.
Flandre must too be in so much pain... being locked down here, forbidden to go out... maybe I can help her loosing that pain, just as she helped me?
"I... I love you too..." she said, and hugged her tighter.

(Kage: Uh...I interpret Flandre as having stayed in the basement willingly, hence why she didn't say one bad word about Remi when she was telling Koishi her story. Maybe it was just that Remi recognized Koishi as a satori...)
Flandre: "Koishi! Your eye!" Flandre had noticed that Koishi's third eye was opened. Was it her love? Come to think of it...Flandre was getting flashbacks of her own. Flandre remembered when she and Koishi would sneak off to play. And...She remembered what happened just as she was about to proclaim her love for Koishi. Remi came and took her away. However, Remi was more scared than angry. She had been scared because she had heard of the satori. She didn't know exactly what they did, but Remi reasoned that they must have done something terrible to have to be banished to the Former Hell of Blazing Fires. Remi forbade Flandre from seeing Koishi anymore. Flandre remembered every single tear she shed in the basement that night...But the next morning, she and Remi had forgotten completely about the beautiful satori that had captured Flan's heart. Was that the day Koishi closed her third eye? Was all that suffering and emptiness Koishi had been suffering all these years...her fault? With these memories, Flandre squeezed Koishi and began bawling.
"Koishi. I remember...Everything. You'd sneak away from your home. We'd play all the time. When I was about to tell you that I loved you...Remi discovered us. I know you're thinking she locked me in the basement again...But she didn't seem too angry. When she talked to me then...She seemed almost...frightened. She said...nothing good could happen if I associated with a satori. I couldn't see you anymore. I couldn't sleep that night...I was too busy crying. Darling..." (lifts up Koishi's chin) "Was that the night you closed your eye?"

Koishi turned to see that her eye had slowly opened, she then turned to Flandre again. She had never heard the story from her perspective, but it made no difference. The older vampire wanted nothing to do with her, she was scared of her, just like everyone else. She wondered for a while wether opening her third eye had been a good idea, but the pain still didn't feel as hard now. To have someone to share the pain with, to be able to talk out made the burned easier.
"Yes, I couldn't bear the thought of everyone hating me just as my sister. When, um, Remi took you, I could sense her thoughts. Fear, just as everyone had reacted to my sister. And when you didn't return at all that day, I thought you also had started hating me..." She stopped crying, and managed to put up a faint smile. "But you never hated me, did you? It was I who was impatient, I shouldn't have let my emotions get a hold of myself... I'm... I'm so sorry for erasing you memories, you never deserved that." She loosened her grip on Flandre and stepped back to look her straight in the eyes. "Did I hurt you?"

"I'd have gone through all that and more if it means I can love you again, my Koishi. And if Remi doesn't accept us, we won't listen this time! I am never letting you go again!" (leans in) "I could never hate you, Koishi. I love you too much." Flandre then started kissing Koishi softly, putting all her love into it. The kiss was just as amazing as Flandre remembered and more. Flandre would never abandon the satori. That's what she is saying through kissing her. Flandre didn't know the future, and she didn't know how Remi would react, but she would do anything for Koishi...

Koishi tok a deep breath and rested her forehead against Flandre's forehead. She closed her eyes and mumbled; "Thank you, and I want you to know that I will never loose you again either. I love you too," she said in a quiet voice, but didn't budge. She didn't want this moment to end, this feeling of joy and happiness was to good to resist, and she didn't want to leave Flandre's side. She could hear noises coming from upstairs, but no one was trying to get down to the basement. They were all alone.
