An old, abandoned building next to a freshly restored one in downtown Bucharest, Romania. Bucharest is filled with neglect buildings like this, on the brink of collapse. The owners usually wait for them to fall down by themselves, with the help of the elements and the homeless, so they can tear down the remains and build ugly, high-level box buildings, totally unfit for the architecture of the area. Besides that, we are at high risk of earthquakes, yet little has been done to keep those safe, let alone restore them to the former glory.
