Description Location: The Tower of Midnight; the Castle of Illusion
"What do you think you're doing?" Luc opened his eyes fully at the voice.
"Erica-"
"What are you doing in her room in the middle of the night?"
"I-"
"Her mind is already messed up enough without you playing with it!" This was one of the strangest arguments he had ever got involved with, everything was in harsh whispers.
"I m your Master, you shouldn't question what I do!"
"Well tonight I'm your moral conscience. Get out!" He was pushed out of the door, much to is own surprise.
"Is this how my servants think they can treat me?" He then smirked, glad that someone else was standing up to him. Walking down the spiral stairs he stopped as he saw the cat demon.

"What are you doing here Xi?"
"This is the only place in the castle I haven't explored yet, the door was finally open." His back faced the vampire.
"This tower, it's out of bounds Xilef. I don't want you in here."
"It's her room, isn't it?"
"You pick up fast."
"Fine," he yawned, but remained standing. Luc took him by the shoulder and pushed him down the stairs first, himself following.
"The maid kicked you out didn't she?"
"Yeah," then Luc realised the question he had just answered, his eyes slitting as he wondered at Xilef's meaning.

Xilef silently cursed himself, realising what he had just told the vampire. A cold sweat was going down his face, his pupils having rounded to human fear. The hairs on the nape of his neck stood on end, his ears twitching nervously.
"What's setting you on edge Xi?"
"N…nothing."
"Oh come one, you can tell me." He jumped as the vampire's head appeared over his shoulder.
"Please don't do that," he whimpered, "it reminds me of your mother."
"You've got something on your ear," the vampire changed the topic, "Maybe that's what is bothering you. May I?" He nodded slowly. Fingers traced the rim of his ear.
"It's a feather, how did that get there?"
"Must have been a bird," he answered automatically and turned. The feather was the sort you'd find in a pillow, and he just knew it was from her pillow.
"Or my pillow," he went to grab the feather but the vampire blew it away.
"Remember Xi, you're not allowed in this tower."

I woke, something was licking at my face. With one hand I gently pushed it away, then sat up.
"Hey puss puss," I smiled sleepily and stroked his head. He let out a little meow. Picking him up and stroking under his chin I looked about.
"So, it wasn't a dream." Standing up I noticed I was still in the green dress. Going to the window I put the cat down on the sill and looked out. The dawn was a sweet rose.
"I've never seen a dawn like this before. But this isn't real is it?" The cat looked up at me with large round amber eyes.
"He sent you to watch over me didn't he? Even before I came here. He was planning this." He gave out an innocent sounding meow. Picking him up again I hugged him.
"Oh I can't be angry at you, you're just a cat." He purred contentedly, she stroked the strip of fur between his eyes.
"Even if he did create it, it doesn't stop it being beautiful." Putting him down on the bed he padded across it, then settled on the pillow.
"You just wanted the pillow didn't you?" The cat seemed to reply yes by wrapping his tail about him. I sat back down, my hand softly clutching at the sheet.
"I might as well get use to it, I'm likely to be here awhile."

Location: The Map Hall of Illusions; the Castle of Illusion
Luc stood in front of one of the maps, hands on hips. His shirt front was open, his paled abs showing. A noise at the door made him turn his head.
"Hello?"
"You feeling better Princess?"
"Please don't call me that, people only call me that when they're not going to treat me like a person."
"I'm doing it as a sign of respect Amber, not a mockery of you."
"Would you like it if I called you Master or King or some other random title?"
"I'm a Prince actually. So call me 'My Prince' all you want, but I'm perfectly content with Luc."
"I…" she turned away, a blush coming to her face, not that she'd been looking him in the eye in the first place.
"I've kept you in the dark, there's no need to start even trying to apologise Amber."
"I…"
"Stop it," he was now stood in front of her, "There's no reason to apologise." His hand cupped her cheek despite the fact she looked at the floor.
"Why am I here?"
"I still don't know." He felt a tear roll over his hand.
"Hey, don't cry Amber," he brought his hand to the back of her head and held her close.

He held me close, tears slowly rolling down my cheeks. All my feelings … they're so mixed up. I'm beginning to question everything, everything I ever knew, everything I'm learning. I just don't know. Are my feelings just becoming an illusion like this castle? In a place where not everything is real, are there any answers? I don't know. My world has come crashing down around my heels, the shards so scattered about me that I daren't move in case I break one. What's reality, what's fake? The edge of either are so blurred. So are my feelings, my emotions, so is just everything. And then there's the darkness again.
