Description Location: The Tower of Midnight; the Castle of Illusion
Even in sleep she was just as innocent, but innocence can't be maintained forever.

The first thing I felt was the pillow beneath my right cheek. I thought the cat was back, something was playing with my hair. My eyes flickered open.
"Hey Princess." I don't think that was the cat.

Luc's fingers were softly entwined into her hair. Her eyes opened.
"Hey Princess," she seemed to stall at his words, "You fainted again." Slowly she turned, eyes opening wide, grabbing the sheet and jumping from the bed. He just leaned back on the mattress, head resting against the pillows.

My mouth was opening and shutting in silent shouts.
"You're actually speechless," he went and stood on the bed.
"Why are you in my bed?"
"Theoretically I'm on it."
"You were-"
"No, I was still on it, you Princess owned all of the sheet."
"I don't like being called that," I looked away, then realised I was in a night dress, "What happened to my clothes?"
"Don't worry," he dropped from the bed coming to stand in front of me, "I wasn't the one that changed you." There was a long silence.
"Princess princess princess," he smiled.
"Stop calling me that."
"Else what? You'll hit me Princess?" I went to slap him playfully but he grabbed my wrist. My eyes focused on his hand holding me.
"Now Princess-" I hit him across the face with my other hand.
"That I did not expect.£ He let go of my wrist and I turned my back on him.
"Would you hit me again if I said the 'P' word?" he put his head on my shoulder.
"Why am I here?"
"Cause I brought you here."
"Why though?"
"I wanted to talk to you," he pulled away, I kept my back to him.
"This isn't the first time you've watched me sleep is it?"
"No, the first time I saw you you were sleep, this was back in the Land of the White Morn. I just wanted to talk to you, so I sent someone to find out about you. He was pretty rubbish, it wasn't till it was too late he found you, by then you were set to be married. During the days I hadn't been able to get to you, and at night you were asleep and guarded. But I didn't want to wake you in the first place. The only place it left was at the altar. You sleep as if you were some angel or goddess, white innocence just written across your face."
"I don't get what all this means. This place, I don't understand it. I just feel all mixed up."

His eyes looked at the back of her neck, slowly working down to the sheet. He caught the paw prints that hadn't been there last time he had been here. Frowning, an idea slowly formed in his head, a smile playing on his lips. Organising his thoughts he composed himself, going back to the matter at hand.
"I'm sorry I make you feel like that," he wrapped an arm about her, placing a hand on her heart, "If you're confused over what is real just look here, it'll tell you all."

My breath stalled in my throat, his hand was against my breast. The blood was running through my cheeks. I fell to my knees, my head bowed down, the sheet dropping from my hands.
"Amber," he whispered in my ear, "Is everything okay?" I shut my eyes, then nodded slowly. Something cold touched my ear, making me take a small intake of breath. My cheek was taken, head turned, eyes still shut. What happened next reminded me of something completely different. A long time ago I fell into one of the ponds at the Southern Royal Household. I'd hit the bottom face first, numbing my lips. All the while in my head I had been telling myself not to breathe until I broke the surface. This was what I felt now, the surface being broken was his lips pulling away from mine.
"I feel I have gone too far there," his voice seemed to turn away, "Sorry." As I heard the door shut I half opened my eyes. I touched my lips with my fingers, my whole face red. It was something like that which messed up all of my emotions.

Location: A pond; the Gardens of Illusion
Xilef sat in the middle of a shallow pond. His tail waved through the water, just below the surface. With eyes shut he fell backwards, landing with arms stretched out as if to make a snow angel. His hair floated like a halo on the water, and he snapped his eyes open. Black pupils slit instantly on exposure to the fake light, leaving his amber irises wide.
"Wake up sire Xilef," Erica yelled, the next second he was hit by a towel. Sitting up he ruffled his hair, being careful of his ears. He turned to her, a look of annoyance on his face.
"I thought cats didn't like water."
"Where do you think fish come from?" Stepping to the edge she looked into the shallow pond.
"I don't think there are any fish in here. You need a better excuse."
"I need a better excuse to be soaking wet?"
"Why am I complaining?" she smiled in that way which made him smile back knowingly, however he began on a serious note.
"Cause you're boss told you to go get me?"
"He wants to talk to you about something. He just came back from being with the Princess, I think he might know."
"Oh crap," he softly complained, "I've still got you though haven't I?" He softly bit the edge of her ear.
"You're dripping wet sire."
"How red are your cheeks?" he purred, "I'm betting very."
"Master Lucifer wishes to talk to you now, he said I should drag you back by the ears if I had to."
"Not my ears," he instantly went to protect them, Erica just frowned in response.
"What?" the demon questioned her look.
"Do you really think I'm stupid enough to try and touch a cat demon's ears without permission?" He didn't respond. Taking the towel from him she hit him across the stomach with it then held it threateningly under his nose.
"You were thinking yes weren't you?" Xilef nodded, half knowing that he was about to get hurt. And he was right. The towel hit the bottom of his nose, and he stepped back, back into the pond.
"That wasn't very nice."
"You called me stupid."
"No, you presumed I called you stupid!" They both glared at each other, and to his own surprise he found her stare off-putting.
"You're annoyed at me aren't you?" he folded his arms and looked away, "Fine, I'll follow." He went to walk one way, but grabbing the back of his jacket Erica walked the other.
